Astrid's POV
I froze in that monent. What was I going to say about being here at this particular time? Would Alpha Jaxon think I was listening in on all their conversation?
Beta Caleb looked between me and Alpha Jaxon before nodding once.
"Excuse me, Surrogate Astrid."
Then he left the room leaving just me and Alpha Jaxon whose expression I couldn't fully read.
"Astrid, what are you doing at the door? Come in."
I nodded before realizing he could see me. This felt awkward and for whatever reason it felt like I had been hiding a lot from him.
I took a step forward before stopping.
"Sorry, I wanted to see you but I can see that you are busy now. I should go."
I turned away but before I could move, Alpha Jaxon was already next to me and he held my arm.
