“You saw the Tree of Cariad," Rory says, a hopeful smile on his face. Freya gives him a look to remind him that she doesn't know what that is.
Merlyn answers for him, “The Tree used to be the link between this Realm and the human one, keeping the balance. Think of it like a life source between the two. By the way you described it, that's what it looked like before it was destroyed."
“And that's when I disappeared," Freya says, almost a question. The puzzle pieces finally start to fit together. A crease forms between her brows as she asks, “Did I have something to do with the link breaking?"
None of them answer her.
“Did I?!" Freya asks again. If that's why she was cursed, maybe...maybe she deserved it. The thought scares her, hoping it's not true. But their looks say otherwise.
