Chapter 29 NICK sat in Charlie's office, his feet propped up on the desk. He felt confident that Charlie believed him when he informed him about Balder holding him at gun point. Even though Charlie was clearly not happy about Nick killing the man instead of disabling or otherwise getting around him while leaving him alive, he appeared to accept the facts. Nick could tell that there was still some anger lurking toward him for not reporting in more regularly, but he felt it would eventually blow over. Because it was his summit, this case was personal for Charlie and his inability to personally run the operation from the field obviously frustrated the man. Nick had just spent the last two hours relaying an abbreviated and filtered version of what he'd learned over the last week to Charlie,
