LILY'S POV ‘Aaron must have been cheating on me to bring a girl into our home, just 24 hours after I left.’ My emotions clouded my thoughts and I pushed the door without thinking twice. The sight before me was disgusting and I bawled my first tightly.A random girl was sitting on Aaron's length, sliding it in and out of her core right on our matrimonial bed. They were so engrossed in the act that they didn't even notice my presence. With a nonchalant scoff, I walked towards the closet, grabbed my box and began to pick my belongings. They finally noticed my presence and they weren't even repentant.“Who's that, baby?” The lady asked and he chuckled.“The old and expired hag,” He replied and I gripped my hair dryer tightly, trying to control the anger I felt. I proceeded to pick some of my clothes and other things I'd need. When I was done, I spat on them and left the room with my shoulders high, though my heart clenched in my chest. “You'll hear from my lawyer.” I said with a stern glare before living finally. As I got back on the streets with my boxes, a hotel was the first place that came to my mind. I entered a taxi for the nth time and headed to a nearby hotel. It was a five-star hotel and I knew it would cost a lot but what was the use of the money when it wasn't even enough to save my mother's life. I paid the driver on our arrival and alighted with my boxes. As I reached the hotel reception, I spoke with the receptionist and she said the only room available was in the VIP suite.I sighed frustratedly and proceeded to make payments, after which I requested for the room card. She rummaged through the drawers for it and I waited patiently.“I'm sorry ma'am, it seems the room card is at the door. Please, come with me.” I followed her closely and we got into an elevator. We arrived at the last floor where the VIP suites were located. Lo and behold, the room card wasn't removed from the door.“Thank you, very much.” I appreciated and she took her leave.I held my boxes closer and swiped the card. The door opened automatically and I stepped in. Just as I expected, the room screamed luxury. The interiors were lit and I just couldn't help but marvel at the sight. I lay tiredly on the bed without bothering to take off my sandals. I was too exhausted and I couldn't think about anything else. After a few minutes, I walked towards one of my boxes in search of my PC.“Who the f**k are you?” I heard a masculine voice from behind and froze in place. I was startled to the extent of peeing my pants.‘This is a hotel room, isn't it supposed to be secure?’ I wondered inwardly as I turned around to meet his gaze. I was left dumbstruck by the sight I beheld. He stood tall with a snow-white towel wrapped firmly around his toned waste line. His chiseled torso, adorned by crystal-like water droplets that rolled down his chest continuously. His captivating sea blue orbs, pointed nose, thin lips and sharp jawline. His wet hair sticking to his face made him look just perfect and Gosh! I was gawking. “Are you deaf? Who the f**k are you and how did you get in here?” He asked with a serious expression and I jolted out of my world of fantasy.“I should be the one asking you that. How did you get into my room?” I asked with a frown, annoyed by his rudeness. He chuckled lightly, the expression disappeared in an instant and his face became as blank as slate once again. He approached me slowly and I subconsciously took a few steps backwards. “Don't play games with me. Who are you and how did you get in here?” He asked with a deadly glint, peering deeply into my eyes and I swallowed nervously.“I— I— paid for–” I stuttered under his gaze, unable to form a reasonable sentence.“Speak!!” He yelled and I quivered.“I paid for this room.” I finally voiced out and he scoffed.“You think I'm kidding, don't you? How the f**k did you pay for a room my personal assistant reserved a week ago?” I blinked at this revelation, trying to wrap my head around what was going on.“Start talking, Who sent you and what's your mission here?” He reached out for my neck and my eyes widened the next instant. It happened so swiftly, I didn't even get a chance to explain. He gripped my neck firmly and my breath ceased. I coughed violently, holding his wrist as tightly as I could in an attempt to break free from his hold but my efforts proved abortive. “Are you ready to speak? Who sent you to stalk me?” The killing intent in his eyes made my body tremble. I felt my life flash before my eyes and I told myself I couldn't die in the hands of this vile stranger.“Let—- me—- go–” I coughed out, hitting his wrist with my bawled fist but he didn't bulge. I made up my mind to stand up for myself. ‘The self defense tips I learnt in highschool would be entirely useless if I don't use it in times like this.’ I urged myself and energy from an unknown source surged through me, giving me the courage to knee him in the groin. I lifted my knee and gave him a terrible hit in the groin. He released my neck and stumbled backwards, grabbing his manhood. The look in his eyes screamed “disaster!” and fear gripped me. My palms became sweaty I took to my heels without having a second thought and ran as far as my legs could take me. I ran into the elevator immediately and couldn't wait for it to reach the ground floor. The killing intent in his eyes couldn't be ignored and I knew I was done for if he got a hold of me.The elevator came to a halt and I bumped into the receptionist who seemed to be coming towards it as well.“Who's the maniac in the room I paid for?” I asked furiously and she flashed me an apologetic look.“I'm really sorry ma'am. The room I led you to isn't the free one. My colleague made a mistake when drafting the data,” She informed and I facepalmed myself. “I don't know how you intend to do it but get every piece of my stuff out of that room, including my phone.” I instructed angrily and she nodded before leaving. I glanced back to make sure he wasn't after me before hurrying to hide beside the counter. My heart palpitated as I waited patiently for her to return with my stuff and my pupils dilated the moment she came back empty handed.“Where are my boxes?” I asked, brewing with fury and she still had the apologetic look that wasn't helping matters.“He wants you to— come get them yourself—” She stuttered and I scoffed.“He must be crazy! Does he know me before now?” I yelled furiously, attracting the attention of everyone in the lobby. I heard a slight commotion from the exit and turned around to see what was going on.“I want to take my leave..”“Why can't I leave?” “Who's Mr. Barrett?”“Excuse me, I have to go!” “Mr. Barrett!! Really?”The crowd chorused, trying to get past a bunch of bodyguards obstructing their way and it drew my attention.“What's going on?” I asked the receptionist whose head was hung low. “On Mr. Barrett's orders, no one goes in or out of this hotel till he says otherwise.” She reported and I scoffed.“That's bullshit! Who the hell is Mr. Barrett?” I inquired with bulging veins. Their unprofessionalism was irking me to the core and the air in the environment seemed to stench.
