Burning hearts chapter 4

Nathans pov

We were in Italy for 3 months with my uncle who is Italy's biggest mafia boss. I met Hailey the day they arrived. I was at the beach with my little sister and my mom and all our bodyguards. they were always seville dressed when we were out like that in public. not to attract attention.

me and my little sister were in the water when they arrived at the beach but i saw her right away. She was the most beautiful girl I had seen before, long brown curly hair, big beautiful green eyes and silky skin.

It only took me half an hour in her company to know that she was the one i was going to spend the rest of my life with, but when you are the son of a mafia boss, rules have been issued due to the safety of our family, so she never reached to know who I really am, she never learned my last name, she did not get a picture of me either, I took our first selfie together and when she wanted to take a picture of me I had to reject her and said that I hated having pictures taken but then I was not allowed to take any more of her either. Stubborn Girl. I smiled

She knew full well I lived in England and since she lived in L.A., the relationship was doomed in advance. But I had other plans. When I turned 18 I wanted to be free and be able to decide for myself who and where, so I told her that when I turned 18 I would come and pick her up or stay with her until she could travel with me. That's why I bought this apartment on my 18th birthday to keep just a small part of the deal we made down there.

I never learned her last name, otherwise I would probably have found her a long time ago, but my stubborn girl would not say anything I could not tell either.

We spent all the time together that we could and we were both deeply in love, I was even something to the point where I could not cope with other boys looking at her or talking to her.

They were going to celebrate her 16th birthday down there and I had been out buying a diamond necklace for her specially designed for her, my uncle helped me with that, I still have it in a box at home in England. I have saved it in the hope that I could find her one day.

I was supposed to come over and say hello to her family. her mother, father and big brother, but the day before her birthday there was a serious attack on our empire in England and I had no choice but to follow home. We managed to get 11 days together and we should have had 10 more days. My plan was to tell her who I was a few days before, so she could have time to think about it, and I could then persuade her to choose me, but that plan unfortunately did not hold.

I was stopped in my thoughts when a tear formed behind her closed eye and her forehead gave a small wrinkle over her eyes. I took my hand and gently removed the tear that rolled down her cheek. I gave her a gentle kiss on the forehead and snuck quietly out of bed and walked around on the other side and sat down next to her. I will not scare her more than she already is.

She began to calmly come to consciousness I could see in the way her body had now begun to move, and while I quietly stroked her gently on the arm to calm her she woke up with the biggest scream I have ever heard.

Her eyes were still closed

"AAAARRRHHHH"

"Heeeelp."

"Please stop, it hurts."

"Ssshhhh hailey you are safe" I said quietly to her with as gentle a voice as I could. tears came pouring down, with sobs in her voice she cried the words out "please stop, stop it, please you're hurting me."

I took my hand and stroked her hair again while trying to get her to open her eyes. "Hailey open your eyes you are safe it's me babe I'm with you now hailey it's me nathan."

"I can't Nathan when I open my eyes you are gone and I really don't want to be in what room, stay with me until he is done please I beg you." She whispered "you are my escape."

"Hailey, open your eyes, you are with me now." I said a little louder hoping to bring her back from her subconscious.

I stroked her quietly across the cheek and made my head down against her ear and whispered "I love you hailey."

Her crying was about to stop and in a calmer voice she said quietly " I love you too. Please stay with me a little more, I miss you so much." And a silent tear rolled down her cheek as she finally opened her eyes.
