I stood in the dark. This blackness enveloping my every move, cascading over every feature. I stood at a crossroads. The ground slick with mud. The moon high above my head.
He stood across from me, far away.
His features masked my a blanket of blackness. All was a mystery except his eyes which shone with a blood red light. His voice reverberated through the air with a baritone unlike any other. despite its deepness it had a rich quality, like a dark chocolate.
He spoke of evil desires. Desires he knew resided in my heart. He spoke of a deal. One that wouldn’t cost me anything, yet. He said he could make me who i wanted to be. The cold nipped at my ears, the rain soaked my clothes, and my breathing felt distant and shallow.
“What do you say?” if I hadn’t been paying attention I wouldn’t have known it was question. The way he said it seemed to imply he already knew my answer. His voice grew impatient with my mounting insecurity. My hair rested in my eyes as this feeling of growing pain in my chest seemed to burst forth. And in the same moment it seemed to explode from me it shifted to a grand nothingness. My chest burst into nothing at all. my eyes lost their light. I felt my mouth make a noise I didn’t recognize. I could see his face cloaked in shadow shift into an evil grin. He put forth his arm, and I grasped onto it.
“Well, looks like we have a deal.”
