So I was pleasantly surprised and then immediately worried when we got there and they hadn’t yet arrived. My first impulse was to text them and ask if they were okay, but I figured that if they were in trouble, someone in town would have let me know. I got out the griddle and put the bacon on. Then, I whipped up a batch of from-scratch pancake batter since I had a little extra time. I was just flipping the last pancake and pouring out the scrambled eggs when there was a knock at the door.
