Two days after my visit to the station, I got another call from inspector John summoning me to the station. As I arrived there after close of work, he ushered me into his office with a wide smile. My hopes surged at the sight of his countenance. “Welcome Miss Rufus.” He said gaily, signaling me to sit opposite him. I guess he opted for the name that he could easily pronounce. “Thank you Sir.” I stifled the urge to ask him what the good news was, even though I was clearly very anxious. “I have news. We are a step closer to finding the culprits.” He opened the table drawer and pulled out a file. I adjusted impatiently on my seat, willing him to just spit it out. “We have been able to ascertain the manufacturer of the gun that the bullet came from. By tomorrow morning, we are going there.
