"Miss Martin, please have a seat," the lawyer said, gesturing to the chair across from his massive mahogany desk. "I'm Charles Whitman, Mr. Rossi's legal counsel." Sophia perched on the edge of the leather chair, her hands clasped so tightly in her lap that her knuckles had gone white. The law office was everything she'd expected from someone who worked for the Rossi family… expensive, intimidating, and designed to make people like her feel small and out of place. Ethan sat in the chair beside her, looking perfectly relaxed in his tailored suit. He'd barely spoken to her since she'd called him that morning to accept his proposal, just given her an address and a time.
