"Sophia!" The blonde girl from the library came running toward her with a bright smile, her arms outstretched. "I'm so happy to finally meet you properly!"
Before Sophia could react, the girl enveloped her in an enthusiastic hug that smelled of expensive perfume and confusion. Sophia stood frozen, her mind struggling to process what was happening.
"I'm Isabella," the girl said, pulling back but keeping her hands on Sophia's shoulders. "Your sister-in-law! Well, future sister-in-law. Thank you so much for saving me from my grumpy brother that night. He was being such a beast about the money I borrowed."
Sister-in-law. The words hit Sophia like a physical blow. This wasn't some random girl Ethan had been terrorizing… this was his sister. His family.
"Money you borrowed?" Sophia repeated
