He watched as the patrols ran around. Some didn’t seem to be really looking while others were more determined to keep an eye out for unusual things ‘To bad they won’t realize its me that has been pulling the strings.’ He thought as he continued to watch them. He wanted to know when they changed in any shape or form so they wouldn’t be surprised when they did finally attack. After watching for a good minute he slowly started to trot away. ‘Soon’ he thought as he disappeared into the shadows of the forestJanice kept running forward. She was not thinking about where she was going she allowed her body to direct her in the direction she felt was right. The thought of Andrea still being there made her angry. She knew she couldn’t have gotten her out of those chains because she had not been human for years. She was worried about what they would do to her only because they had already done so much to Janice. She wasn’t paying attention when a wall of trees popped up in front of her. She mad a jump to the left and felt the ground go out from underneath her. Her body lurched forward and she couldn’t stop moving. She pushed her legs back to try and stop the momentum but it was to late. Her body collided with a tree. She tried to stand up but it was no use her legs refused to move. As darkness started to overtake her she prayed to the moon goddess that the wrong people wouldn’t find her.
The man watched the witch pace back and forth. Every now and again the witch would disappear from his sight. The only reason why was because he had a black eye that had already swollen shut, and he had an ice pack on it. That female wolf had done a number on him. He had a broken leg a black eye and his left arm was dangling at his side. She took a good chunk out of it when she first jumped on him. He was still sulking at the witch continued on yelling at him. ‘How could he blah blah blah.’ ‘He ought to finish the rest of what was done and blah blah blah.’ He was tired of listening to him b***h and moan. “If you’d help heal me I can go after that little b***h and bring her down.” He growled at the witch. That was the wrong thing to say to him.
“HEAL YOU!” The witch roared “AFTER WHAT DAMAGE YOU DID!” The witch was right I front of him grabbing his front collar and jerking him out of the chair “I WILL NOT EVEN WASTE MY TIME HEALING YOU!” The witch threw him across the room. His back collided with the wall and he fell to the floor. The witch was above him in a second the look of contempt on his face “No, I’m going to do the do what I’ve been planning to do this whole time.” The witch’s hands started to glow before he fell into complete darkness.
Anthony was walking with the other patrols making another loop around the border to see if he could find the scent again. It had been three days since Andrea was taken and he hoping that there was a scent around the border that would tell them where they went. Something that didn’t belong. So far they weren’t able to find anything. This was the 5th time today they made a pass, and the other wolves could tell how antsy he was.
“Sir!” A voice yelled. It came from behind him and it was a few yards away. He turned and started to run. Anthony came up to Paul. His facial expression told him he was not going to like what he was going to see. Slowly he approached a huge tree. It was blocking the view of what Paul was looking at. He slowly moved around the trees and saw a woman laying in the mud. He couldn’t see the woman’s face. She had long brown hair that looked wild and white skin that looked as if it had never seen the sun. Her nails were grown so long they almost looked like claws. The only thing that gave away who she was is a little tattoo on her ankle that said “Janice”. She had joked around when she was still a person that this would be the way she would be remembered. He hated that she was right.
“Is she..” He asked leaning down to her body “Is she..” He didn’t get to say anything more, she made a noise and stared a little. He ran up to her and rolled her over. “Janice!” He all but yelled. “Janice we’re here your safe!”
He got her rolled over and looked into green eyes. Her face was looked as if she had been through a fight and the scars on her stomach made his stomach roll. She looked as if she had been through more than hell. When her eyes focused she said one word before she passed out. “McCarthy”
Back at the hospital Anthony Paul and Simon were discussing what Janice said. “McCarthy?” Anthony asked them “Isn’t he one of the men that came from Janice’s old pack?”
“he is,” Angelo said walking up to them “We all thought that he was harmless, especially when he lost his mate.”
“He lost his mate?” Anthony asked Angelo, it didn’t seem to add up in his mind.
“Yes,” Angelo said sitting down in a chair across from Anthony “He found her after she had been mauled by rogues,” He looked directly into Anthony’s eyes and spoke a little more seriously “I don’t think it was rogues that attacked her.”
