Anna's POV Before Dylan can utter another word, I take off running. I slam the door open, desperate to get away, but stop dead in my tracks as I nearly collide with Kevin, who's standing right there. I stare at him, wide-eyed. How long has he been standing there? Did he hear everything? My face heats up with shame, and I clench my cheeks, ready to bolt to my room and pretend none of this happened. “Anna, wait,” Dylan calls behind me. I freeze. I don’t turn around, but his voice is enough to keep my feet glued to the ground. Why is he telling me to wait? So he can continue from where he stopped? No. No, I can’t let that happen. I need to get away from him. Because the truth is, when we’re alone… I lose all sense of reason. “What is it, Kevin?” Dylan asks, his footsteps approaching us.
