Sold to Arrogant man

I ran out of my father’s office and head straight to the elevator and pushed on GF Button. I went straight to where my car was parked and where my driver is waiting. When he saw me, he quickly open the door for me and he then headed to the driver side. I instructed the driver to head back home. I have no one else with me right now except for my auntie.

On the way home, the driver kept peeking at me through the rear view mirror with pity in his eyes as if he know what happened.

//do you know what is going to happen when I get here?//I asked my driver. Jack has been with us ever since I was a kid. He became close to our family and Pretty much know everything that happened to our family. He used to tell me every single thing that happens in our house whenever I came back here. It is just now that I noticed that Jack isn’t telling me something.

//madam, the only thing I have known is that the day you will come back will be our last day of working in your company and in your family. If there is something else you mean, we have no knowledge about that and even if I do, I guess I am not in the right position to tell you that// he said while keeping an eye on the road.

//what do you mean? What will happen to all of the workers?// I asked him because I’m getting confused.

//I don’t have any idea what will happen to the ones working in your company madam. As for everyone in the house, your father already told us in advance that we will be losing our job here for he said he can’t take us wherever he will be going. As for the other workers in the house, some have already found a new place to work and some already left. Some were also hired by your uncle to work with them.//

//but what about you?// I asked.

//as for me, I’m not getting any younger madam, 3 years from now I will be 60 years old so I decided not to look for any job. I decided to take on an early retirement//

Now I’m getting pissed at my father. How can he do such things to a lot of people. Many people will lose their job because of him being an irresponsible boss.

I went straight inside the house and looked for my auntie. Uncle benny is out doing on some business meeting so my auntie is left in the house. I saw her sitting in the garden reading a book. As if noticing my presence, she turn around and rush to me when she saw me.

//hey, are you okay?//I can’t hold my tears anymore so I cried. She hugged me so tight telling me everything is going to be fine. After a few minutes of crying, she led me to sit in the garden with her.

//I’m sorry darling, I already knew this will happen//she said after a moment of silence. I don’t know how to react so I kept quite and let her do the talking. She seemed to notice that I am listening to her so she continued.

//the reason why we came here early is not because we wanted to surprise you, we came here to get your father. A week before we came here, your father called us telling that he committed something you will never like.//

//did he mention to you that he sold his own daughter to pay off his debts?//I asked her.

//he what?//my auntie was surprised about what she heard,

//you heard it right. He sold me to Mr Grayson so he can pay off his debts//

//the only thing he told us is that he sold the company to the Grayson Group of Companies, including this house and the small property your mother left you in San Simeon. He never mentioned about you. How can he do that to you?//

I just cried again knowing that all of our properties was sold by my irresponsible father including me. My auntie hugged me and let cry on her. After a while, she told me she has something to give to me and she then went to their room. When she came back, she handed me a key.

//what is this?//I asked her confused.

//it is supposed to be our birthday gift to you but I think your uncle will understand if I give it to you in advance//I just stared at her confused so she continued. //we decided to buy you a place. It is supposed to be our birthday gift to you but it seems that we won’t be here on your birthday and you need to get a place to start over. We wanted you to come with us but because of the mess your father created. I just have a feeling that Mr Grayson will not agree so, you can go to place we prepared for you. I know you hate your father because of what he did.//I hugged my auntie in thanks and I’m crying again.

//don't worry, everything in the pace has been settled, and whenever you need something, you can call us okay? Everything will be fine.//she said as she hugged me back.

Her cellphone rang and saw that it was my father calling. I let her go to answer the call. I heard her scolding him but there is nothing that we can do right now.
