Chapter 9: Teasing Her

1015 Words
"But the Ceo is not that kind of a person. I've never seen him take an interest in a girl. Are you really sure that you didn't seduce him?" Kirsten grinned at her words. She had a satisfied smile. 'As expected, women like her are as persistent as hell. Right after shamelessly asking me about how I got into the company using her innocent face, now she's trying to stir a doubt around again' "Didn't I already said that he's not interested in average-looking women? I don't know but he probably never showed interest in front of you because you're not up to his standard unlike me who's inborn gorgeous from head to toe," Normally, she would have faced her indirectly just like a while ago but Kirsten figured out that Dianne won't stop until she bluntly say what she meant. The people around her grasp in surprise as soon as they heard what Kirsten said however, no one refuted her words. After all, Kirsten's face and body are way much better than Dianne's. No one can deny that. Kirsten smiled her sweetest smile again as she turned her head toward Dianne, she was clenching her teeth while maintaining her innocent look. 'I must say, she's good at this' Kirsten continues observing her. Soon after, Dianne roamed her eyes around her co-office workers. There, she found out that 'they also think that Kirsten is way better than her' and that they didn't have any intention of refuting her words. Dianne's eyes sharpened. Of course, no one saw it... Except for Kirsten. "Kirsten, I think we got to know you a lot already! I'll be leaving now since I still have a lot of work to finish. Dianne said lastly, as she went for her seat. Kirsten won. Everyone thought. Although she smiled before leaving, everyone could feel her 'annoyance'. 'As expected, it's better to be blunt that to go around the bush' "I guess so... Then, I'll be going now," Kirsten uttered before glancing at Dianne for the last time. "You need to finalize these papers before giving them to the CEO. Make sure to finish it before the day ends." Adrian handed a pile of papers to her. Normally, she would have complained but when she looked at the papers Adrian carried a while ago, her works were comparably tiny. In the end, Kirsten could only sigh. She felt drained already despite not even starting yet. There, she scanned the documents first before she started getting immersed in her work. While she was working, one pair of eyes is intently observing her. It was Arcus. 'I thought she hates work, that's why she refused with all her heart when I proposed her a deal but she's unexpectedly more focused...' "Sir, here are the papers regarding the sales team. After you review, please sign as always if you approve of their idea." Adrian said as he come inside the wide office. Since Adrian resides in the secretarial office, where the other four secretaries are, he had to come in and out every hour to pass the finished papers. Anyway, despite Adrian's disturbance, Arcus's eyes didn't leave Kirsten. He stayed observing her while ignoring his work making Adrian follow his gaze. 'Ah... It's secretary Smith' Adrian looked alternately between his boss and Kirsten. He didn't know but he felt bad for his boss. It's obvious how Kirsten doesn't give a care about his boss. In short, only his boss is interested in her. But he has no time to sympathize since there's still too much work to finish. "Sir, please look at your works instead of secretary Smith." Finally, Arcus looked at him displeased. "You're getting cocky, should I reduce your salary?" He glared. Adrian could only sigh inwardly. His boss had been always like that but he never seriously did those things unless he really got on Arcus's nerve so he wasn't that concerned about it. Seconds after, Arcus looked at Kirsten back again and smirked he had an evil smile. And Adrian knew well that if his boss showed that smile, he was about to do something 'bad'. Adrian nervously followed his gaze. "Kirsten, come here." Kirsten raised his eyes roughly and glanced at the person who called her before she resumed working. Adrian gulped. "Kirsten, I'm calling you. Come here," Arcus's repeated with a lower voice. This time, Kirsten clamped her hands to her table before she started walking toward Arcus. "What is it?" 'Wow, her attitude is really amazing. She's a brat indeed' Adrian thought. He already heard the fact that she dissed Dianne at the office as soon as he entered the secretarial office. "Read these papers for me," Kirsten looked at him dumbfounded. 'What did he just said?' "I said, read these papers while I listen to it since I have to finish everything by today." "..." Kirsten was too speechless to even reply to him. "And you Adrian, get her desk and beside mine." Coming to his senses, Adrian tried to protest feeling bad once again for Kirsten "I also have my own work. Can't you see those? Those are still the works that I have to finish." Kirsten glared at Arcus, sharply "And? I'm your boss Kirsten so listen to my orders," Soon after, Adrian asked the workers from the maintenance workers to help him move Kirsten's desk. It's not a really big table but as a someone who's not used to work using his physical body, it is way too hard to move it alone. As soon as her things, desk and chair were moved, Kirsten sat beside Arcus picking up one of the documents at the very top of the pile of papers. She slightly wrinkled it thanks to her 'trembling hands'. She was really mad. Noticing her mood, Arcus could only smile finding her actions entertaining. 'This is fun...' Adrian looked at them strangely. They strangely look good beside each other despite the difference in their expressions. He shook his head at his thoughts before glancing to his watch. 'It's already 10 : 00 AM'
