"Princesses, please what was her last meal if I may ask." the doctor asked.

"Noodles and some pickled vegetables." Zhou mei qi quickly answered.

"Can I get a sample of the meal?"

"The food was finished last night. What is the problem." Zhou mei qi asked when she noticed the doctor's expression was off.

"Princess she was poisoned by a seven legged toad's venom." the doctor replied with a grave expression.

Zhou mei qi was stunned. The seven legged toad according to it's name was a toad with seven legs . When it senses danger, it spits out a venom which is very lethal. The seven legged toad is very rare, therefore the person that used such a precious venom on Kira either had a very strong hatred towards Kira or the person has a stable supply of the seven legged toad's venom and was indirectly threatening the imperial family or he or she was trying to poison one of the members of the royal family.

But Kira was new at their place and knew no one so the first reason was canceled out. The food that was served the night before was sent directly to the table of their respective owners. Aside from that, Kira and her brother ate in a separate dining hall from the royal members. The third reason was also canceled.

So it can only be the second reason. The perpetrator poisoned Kira in the palace, this means the palace was not safe anymore.
