Chapter 9 - I Love this Feeling

Today has been a dream I've never felt more accepted. I’m getting waves from classmates, that wouldn’t even give me a chance before. It’s like I have this power and it’s overwhelming everyone including myself. The only one not surprised is Luke. He seems to suck up all this attention happily. Almost like he knew what he was doing with me by pushing me out of my comfort zone. Something I have been afraid of for years. My life before this week was mundane, lonely, and it drained me. He changed everything for me for that I owe him. I will repay him with my love.  

After school, he walks me to my car. “Luke,” I stammer. “Do you want to go to the beach tonight? I really enjoyed the other night.” 

He looks at me deep in the eyes, “I would love that.” 

I can’t help but smile in relief. “Great, I think we need some time together at my favorite spot. It is where we had our first date!”

He pulls me in towards his chest I can hear his heart beating, it feels so safe. “Can you meet me at my house at 6 pm? My parents would like to meet the guy that makes me feel like a million bucks.” 

He states proudly. “I wouldn’t miss the chance to meet your parents, it would be an honor.”

 I hold him a bit longer before we get interrupted by James and Alison. 

“This is my cue to get going I’ll see you at 6 tonight.” He laughs at me and says, “I won’t be late!”  

He wasn’t kidding! As I was still getting ready, he was at my door, and it was only 5:30! I ran downstairs almost falling over myself. 

I got to the door just before James did. “It’s just Luke, he's here for me, sorry James.” 

He still stands there as I open the door and welcome Luke in.

 “Hi Handsome, please come in.” 

He walks in, immediately fist bumps James, and leans over to kiss me. If he thinks he has to fall into whatever crap James got him into, I’m going to put a stop to it. He only offered to do extra practices to get a chance with me, and he has me now.  

Next thing I know, I have the whole family around us. 

My dad starts with a rude tone. “It looks like you’ve taken an interest in my daughter. What are your intentions with her?” 

Luke shoots back fast. “Honestly to make your daughter happy because she makes me happy, Sir.”

 I look over at my Mom, who is smiling at my Dad and Luke. I think he got the ok from my mom just by looking at her. 

Oh, if I wasn’t so mad at them for everything, this would be easier on me.

 I hear my Dad announce. “I also hear from James you're playing football with him and the team? I’m a huge fan of football, so make me proud of you on the field and with my daughter. I know you make her feel special. As a father, that’s what I want for her. I’m only allowing this to make her happy.” 

My Dad looks over and winks at me. 

I think this is exactly how I wanted it to go. 

“On that note, Luke it’s time to get out of here. If that’s ok with you?” 

He grabs my hand firmly and says, “If you are so am I.” 

I push him out the door and wave goodbye to my parents.  

We take the most romantic walk down to the beach, not saying a word, but only feeling the energy of lust between us in the air. How can a guy, make me feel so powerful, my thoughts have become more on him than anything?!

 I look up at him with hearts in my eyes. “My life has changed since I met you. I don’t know what you see in me, all I can tell you is, you make me feel powerful and loved. I haven’t ever felt this good in my entire life.”

He proudly boasts. “I see a beautiful woman in front of me, that deserves the best, and I am the best.” 

I laugh at him and make a bolt for the beach. It’s like the water is begging for me. He immediately picks up speed and catches me, right before my feet hit the sand. He grabs me and throws me over his broad shoulders, carrying me to the shore.

 “Let me down!” I scream with enjoyment. “I want to feel the sand in my toes.” 

He keeps me high off the ground and says, “Not until I get a kiss!” 

I have let him plant a few on me before, but I know what he kind means. I start to feel my body tense up from anxiety my heart is pumping fast. I look down at him while I'm still in his arms, I close my eyes and go in for it. I didn’t need to practice kissing, as soon as our lips met each other's the chemistry was electrifying. A surge of heat went through my body and I let all fears go.  

He pulls away after a few moments and gently places me on the sand. “Are you sure that I’m your first boyfriend? You are an amazing kisser and did you feel what I felt?” 

I look at him and smile, “Yes, you are my first and it was mutual. You are the only one I have ever felt these sparks for.” 

We both get cozy in the sand, looking at the waves crashing against the shoreline. The moment feels like a fairytale. Quietly watching the glowing sunset with a huge arm around my waist, making me feel safe. 

 I can’t imagine spending time with anyone but him. Do I want to be a mermaid? I mean there are so many rules. I won’t be able to be with Luke once I transform if I even want to. Maybe my parents don’t want my change into a mermaid. 

I need so much more information about all of this. I just fear the truth, I have been lied to and felt ashamed this whole time. I need to find out so much more and I think it’s time I ask my parents for the truth.  

“Sweetheart,” Lukes says as he starts to tickle me. “You are spacing out on me. Do you want to talk about anything?” 

I can’t help but laugh and tighten up my body, “Absolutely not!”

 I lean in for another electrifying kiss this one lasts much longer than the last. I can feel his tongue softly dancing with mine. As our bodies get closer together, the heat between us is steamy.

 He pulls away again. “We need to slow down, I don’t want to make you feel rushed.”

 I look at him shocked. “If I felt rushed, I wouldn’t be the one that kissed you first. We should take our time, but I can’t help but like the way your mouth feels on mine.”

 He plants a huge wet one me, and I think that was my answer. I don’t want to lose the feeling he gives me.
