Trish
Killer looks between the two of us and clears his throat. “He said Gary is a son of a b***h. So what happened? How did you end up at the buy?” Killer asks. “Well, like I said, I thought I was finally free. I managed to finish my ECD course and this is my second week working at a daycare. I had just left work, when I literally ran into Gary.
He was waiting for me when I entered the parking lot. He grabbed me and threw me in the back of a black van where my horrible foster parents were waiting. And they were their usual evil selves, hitting and kicking me. All they said was that I owed them, and they needed me to get them out of a bind.
When the van stopped, Gary pulled me out and spewed his regular nonsense about me belonging to him. And that we will be together forever. But I just need to help him out, and then he will be back for me. Naturally, I repelled him and didn’t keep quiet, so he got angry and knocked me out.
Before I passed out, I heard my foster mother saying the buyer wouldn’t be happy if I am hurt too much. When I woke up, I was here with Cookie looking after me.” I said and smiled at her, and she returned my smile. “Damn Trish, your family sucks,” Mad Dog says. “Yeah, well, it’s not like I chose them.” I say looking down.
Cookie moves next to me, causing me to look up. She leans forward and slaps Mad Dog on the back of his head. “You are such a dumb ass,” she mumbles as she moves back again. “Sorry you went through all that. So the older couple must've been your foster parents. I am happy to report that they are dead. Gary got away, so any information you can give us would be helpful,” Killer says.
“Did you kill Jennifer and Henry?” I ask in shock. “They were already dead when we got there. But now I wish we were the ones to kill them,” Rebel says. That kind of makes me feel all warm inside. He is angry on my behalf. So much that he wished he had killed them.
“I haven't been in touch with Gary in a long time. I can give you the address I ran away from. Oh, and I still know the number of the guy that helped me escape. He would check on me from time to time. He gave me a burner to use when he helped me escape,” I say.
“Please write down what you know,” Killer says, handing me pen and paper. I wrote down the address and Carl’s number for them and handed the page back to Killer. “So what happens now? Can I go back to my life, or do I have to run again?” I ask and Rebel looks at me with a frown on his face.
“It’s not safe for you either way. You can stay here for as long as you like. There are some empty rooms here in the clubhouse. We are searching for Gary, but until we find him, you aren’t safe on your own,” Rebel says. “You would do that for me? I don’t want to impose. You have already helped me so much.”
“We would do that for anyone that is in danger,” Killer says, and I can’t help but smile. “Everyone has already been more than nice to me. It’s not a feeling I am used to. But thank you very much. Will I be able to get some of my things from my apartment?” I ask, and Rebel shakes his head.
“Sorry cariño [sweetheart], it’s not safe. He probably has someone watching your place. The ladies can go buy you some clothes to wear,” Rebel says. “I don’t have any money on me. I don’t even have my phone. I don’t know what he did with my bag.” “No worries, I got you.” he says, getting up.
“I have a few calls to make. Cookie, will you go get some clothes for Trish?” he asks and she nods. “Sure Rebel,” she says as she takes the card he hands her. “Budget?” she asks, and he just looks at her and walks away with Killer, while she laughs.
“Your funeral,” she yells after him, and I hear him laugh as he disappears up the stairs. “I will leave you with these two for a while so I can max out his card,” Cookie says, getting up. “No, please don’t. I just need a few t-shirts, leggings, jeans and underwear. Nothing too fancy or revealing,” I say and she laughs.
“I got you babe, I see your style. Me maxing out the card is personal,” she says with a wink and walks off. “What is that about?” I ask Slider and he shakes his head. “Rebel's old lady has turned out to be a b***h. He won’t leave her, because he got her knocked up. She probably wants to max his card to piss Dani off.
We all hate her, but we tolerate her for Rebel’s sake. He is too good a man to throw her out on her ass, so she plays on his emotions. She cheated on him a few times, and broke his heart. But the tests show the baby is his, so he is stepping up,” he answers. “Wow, that’s horrible. I hate women like that. What type of mother will she be? I feel sorry for the baby,” I say and Dagger nods.
“Enough of that. He won’t appreciate us discussing him like this. You will see Dani soon. She comes and goes. Rebel stays here most of the time. He doesn't want to stay in his own house anymore, because she is there,” Dagger says, getting up. “Do you need help getting up the stairs?” he asks.
“No, it’s okay, thank you Dagger. I will stay here till Cookie comes back if that’s okay.” “You heard Rebel. This is your home for now, so you can do whatever you like. Just please don’t go anywhere alone. Your ex sounds like a piece of work. You are safest here,” he says, making me smile. “Yes sir, I will stay put,” I say and give him a mock salute, and he laughs as he walks away.
“Want to watch a movie?” Slider asks and I nod. He switches on the television and lets me choose the movie, while Mad Dog gets us snacks. Soon, more of the guys came to join us. This is the most welcome I have felt in all my life. And this is the last place I expected to feel so welcome.
Rebel
I just hung up on a call with my best friend and brother, Domingo. He is in the military, and my go-to person when I need help or information. We heard chatter about a human trafficking ring operating in my city, so I had to act. The f*****g nerve of these people.
Clearly, they are new to this city and have never heard of the Chopper Demons or me. If they had, they wouldn't be running their s**t on my turf. Anyone who runs a business in my city knows that I do not allow anyone to harm children and women.
When we pulled up to that buy, something had already gone wrong. It looked like a double cross. The older couple I now know are Trish’s foster parents, were already dead. They were busy loading Trish into a car when we stopped them.
Trish was unconscious, tied up and bleeding from a wound on her head. Something inside me stirred when I looked at her helpless form. I was so worried about her and getting her to safety, that I let that asshole get away. That can’t happen in my line of work. Focus is important.
But something about that woman gets to me. When I walked in just now and saw her, I had that same feeling again. I don’t like it, and I don’t need it right now. Dani is up my ass and I don’t want anyone caught in the crossfire. If she wasn't pregnant with my child, I would have sent her cheating ass packing a long time ago.
I still can’t believe I allowed her to screw me over like that. She broke my heart. Just looking at her hurts. I have to remember that I am Rebel, damn it. I am hard as nails and tough to crack. That is the persona I have to show. Not the broken man I am inside. I really thought Dani was the one.
“Trish seems like she is a great girl. And judging by what she said, she went through a lot of s**t. I am glad we can help her,” Killer says, breaking me out of my thoughts. Killer is my second in command, and we started the motorcycle club together with Dom. We all grew up together and they always have my back.
“Yeah,” is all I answer, and he looks at me quizzically. “Either, you really don’t like the girl, or you like her a bit too much. My guess is you like her. You know I would never tell you what to do, but bringing someone new into the equation spells trouble. Dani will make her life hell,” he says, and I groan.
“I know, I know. I will avoid her as much as I can. Something about her gets to me, man,” I say and sigh. “She is beautiful, I get it.” “It’s not just her beauty. I don’t know man, just drop it,” I say, and he nods and gets up to stand at the window. “We have to find her ex. Judging by the way things were done, that was not the first buy he set up.”
“I have never heard of him, but Dom will be in contact soon. When we have…” I start saying, but am interrupted by Daniella, barging into my office. “What the f**k Rebel? You maxed out my card at a women's clothing store?” she yells, showing me the message on her phone, and I just look at her.
“Who is the b***h! f**k with me, and I will disappear with this baby,” she yells, and I get up and stalk over to her. “Your threats mean nothing to me. You won’t leave, because no one will put up with you or someone else’s baby.
Now get out of my office and my clubhouse. You are not welcome here,” I said, and took her arm and led her out. “This is not over Rebel. That was my money. How dare you use it on some whore.” she yells as she tries to free her arm from my grip.
“Your money? You don’t have a cent to your name. Now leave,” I say, and turn back and close the door and lock it. She bangs on the door and yells her threats, but I just sigh and go sit at my desk.
