Claire I watched Connor walk closer to Tyler, each step slow and heavy on the gravel. Blood still dripped from his knuckles and had soaked into the torn edge of his shirt. His shoulders stayed loose, almost casual, but his eyes never left Tyler like the rest of the world had stopped mattering. Tyler scrambled backward fast, boots scraping. His hands came up in front of his chest, palms out like that was going to do a damn thing. “Get away from me,” he rasped, voice still wrecked from the choking. “Stay the f**k back, man.
