After two hours of blowing holes into targets Abigale appeared next me in the gun range. "You're an excellent shot." she remarked. I looked at the target hanging up and the ones sitting on the counter where Abigale stood. Decent marksmanship considering how angry I was. "Thanks." I said. "What brings you down here? Did Sybil try to kill someone? A redhead perhaps?" I couldn't help myself. The way things were going it was entirely possible. Her answer was a side smirk as she began to pet Daemon. The furries came down to the range with me and stood sentinel outside of the station door. They came sniffing in when Abigale had arrived.
"No everyone is still alive. They've finished hashing out the details of your Aunt and cousins coming o live here. I must say it's rather exhilarating, having the hunters coming to live here. They're legendary." That was true. Everyone knew who my cousins were. In their relatively short lives they had attained a reputation for being the bad ass supernatural police. They've basically made it their personal mission to ensure supernatural of the bad persuasion are taken care of and that the rest of the magical community and humans are protected. I was rather proud of them. Having them close to me made me feel better about life in general. I highly doubted that Puff would share my enthusiasm.
I looked at Abigale and said "I can't imagine that Puff is really 100% on board with this. I mean having me here hit a nerve and I don't even practice magic. Four fully practicing witches must have him hyperventilating in a corner." I think I may have jumped just a little because Abigale started laughing. I mean deep, belly laughing, tears running down her checks, and snorting laughing. And her laughter was contagious. Big time. So naturally I started giggling at her laughter. When she had finished and caught her breath she said "Forgive me. No one, and I mean not even Kaeleb or I, dare to say such things about Draco. Hearing you can him Puff and picturing him hyperventilating in a corner is funny." She smiled at me. I really did like Abigaile. We started to go back upstairs. I knew people had been watching me shoot but it wasn't until we started leaving that I realized how many. Goody. I'll just add that to the stares I used to get in school when people found out about my "gift".
As we made our way up the stairs Puff voice came over an intercom asking everyone present to make their way to the great. Great. Hall. Unreal. Off we went to the great hall where Abigale took me to the front where Puff and Sybil were standing. I movement by ankle told me Niccademus had found his way into the house.
Draco
My head was throbbing. 3 days and it seemed as if my entire life. All things I had carefully built. Each strategic move I had made came crashing down around with the arrival of one person. Sabella.
I shivered even thinking of her. How could such a tiny being reek so much havoc on my world? How could being near her affect me so in spite of her witch nature? I should be repulsed. And yet…I felt drawn. She challenged me. Openly. No one had the courage to do that. Not before the curse and definitely not after. But Sabella was different. I knew the moment I saw her. The moment I felt her. It was like a magnet, a force, a calling to something buried deep within me. Every time we spent time together she surprised me. I never am surprised but that first night when Sabella bested me with my own dagger…the feeling was indescribable. Not only had I been surprised I was enticed, my body reacting on its own as it hadn’t in centuries. I relived it over and over the past few days. Each time savoring the memory with pleasure, lust, needing. Even thinking of it now my c**k hardened and I shifted uncomfortably. I need to push that aside and draw all my attention to the assembly in front of me, a task made more difficult as my eyes found Sabella entering the hall with Abi. Another jerk in my pants had me thinking of the little witch in a very uncompromising position. FOCUS!
Clearing my throat I began.
“I know the last few days have been…eventful.” Understatement. “Many of you are confused with all of the activity and the addition of Sabella as it is not common for us to accept new comers without fully vetting them.” Again massive understatement. “I’d like ease you and tell you that this period of change is over.” Mummers from the crowd. “However..” more grumbles. “I can not. Instead I am here to inform you all that in addition to Sabella we will adding 4 more to our ranks. I’ll ask you all to refrain from reacting.” Let that settle in as the crowd becomes more uneasy. 3, 2, 1. “Sybil Montgomery and her 3 children, known to us as the Hunters, will be taking up residence here for an undetermined amount of time.” Shock. Complete silence as all eyes turn to Sybil. “Please be welcoming and respectful to our new comers. This will not be an easy adjustment for anyone but we must all come together to defeat the darkness that looms ever closer.”
"Thank you for the warm welcome!" Sybil says with a smile as the crowd murmured. It had taken over an hour for Sybil and I to come to agreeable terms. She and the Hunters would take up residence in one of the outlying cottages on the property. Having Sabella in house was one thing. I needed her to be in the house. To keep an eye on her. Or at least thats what I told myself. The others could remain on the property close enough to teach Sabella but far enough away as to not rattle everyone. Callista had gone ballistic when Sybil and I began speaking terms passing her to go into the house. I had to have Cassady escort her off the property. She may be the only witch I have tolerated for centuries but apparently that has gone to her head to react as she did.
I turned my back to the assembled, looking at Sabella, Abi, and Sybil, and heard the crowd start to disperse. "I'd like to speak to you all in my office. Abigail if you'll get Kaeleb, Marco, Marcus, and Marcel" I say. "Oh are we in trouble?" asks Sybil. "I do hope it's the naughty kind of trouble." She says with a mischievous grin on her face. My mouth opened but I thought better of my comment so I closed it. Sabella giggled. It was musical. Damn this witch. She is doing things to me. Still giggling Sabella says "No Auntie not that kind of trouble. Follow me to the principles office." as we walks past me and winks. My body jerks again and I run my hand over my face.
Everyone arrives at the office at the same moment. Abi sits in one of the chairs across from my desk, Sybil taking the other. Kaeleb stands at my side as I sit behind the desk. Everyone else just gathers around standing. "Auntie. Let me introduce everyone.' Sabella says. Going around the room beginning with me she begins "You've already met Draco. Next to him is his brother Kaeleb. This lovely lady next to you is his sister Abigail." "Aw sweetness. You need to hurry up and switch teams!" Sabella giggled again as Kaeleb and I yelled at Abi for inappropriateness. I was possibly a little too aggressive given the side eye Kaeleb gave me. Continuing "And we have the triplets whom I’m going to take a stab in the dark and say are cousins.” They all nod. “Marco is the oldest, crescent shaped scar under his left eye. Marcus is the middle, mole on the right side of his nose. Marcel is the youngest, dimple on his chin. He also likes me because he finds me amusing." She adds with a smirk and a shrug. "Damn right!" Marcel pops off. "And she's a damn good cook too!" he says which earns him a smile from Sabella and an approving nod from Sybil. "Everyone my Aunt Sybil Montgomery." "Lovely to meet you all. This is not what I thought you meant by Principles office Sabella." Sybil looks at Sabella pointedly. Sabella blushes? That's interesting. "I told you Auntie not that kind of trouble!" she says exasperated. This amuses me.
"I wanted everyone to meet" I say. "Sybil will be leaving to join her children tonight and return with them in the next few days. At that time.." "At that time" Sybil cuts me off "my children, myself, and Sabella will fixing the warding on this place." she finishes. Clearing my throat and reigning in my anger I look to Sabella "Yes as agreed. That will be the beginning of Sabella's training. There are several cabins on the property. Your family will have the largest one as living quarters. Another large one we have outfitted as a training area. That is where you can conduct magical...things." I really hate witches. This is hard but necessary. These witches...I have a good feeling. Not trusting that for s**t but it is noteworthy. I can hear Sabella sigh "Out of the frying pan..."she mumbles. "Sabella Elizabeth Storm do not mumble. Eye rolling, back talk, no greeting, and mumbling. Sweetling your mother would be turning over in her grave." Sybil grills Sabella. For some reason I don't care for it. "Sorry Auntie" Sabella says.
"You're all free to go. Abigail if you could get Sybil to wherever she needs to go please." I say. "On it." replies Abi. Everyone gets up and starts leaving. Sabella give Sybil a hug and tells her she loves her which the older witch replies the same. She also mention the cat, named Niccademus, will be staying to roam the ground. f*****g talking cat. Just what I need.
