As the clock ticked toward 11 am, Alex entered the dimly lit bar where he worked. The scent of stale smoke and lingering echoes of the previous night's revelry filled the air. He began his routine of cleaning glasses and wiping down the bar, preparing for the day ahead. As he worked, a couple entered the bar and took a seat. The atmosphere in the establishment was still recovering from the night's chaos, but the allure of the lifestyle that had gripped Alex drew him in. Approaching the couple with a friendly demeanor, he offered them a selection of drinks. Engaging in conversation, Alex attended to the couple and the other customers scattered throughout the bar. The familiar dance of mixing drinks and exchanging pleasantries became second nature to him. However, amid the interactions, he couldn't help but notice the wife's lingering gaze. Her eyes followed him as he moved behind the bar, a subtle acknowledgment of the underlying tension in the air. The lifestyle he found himself addicted to had woven a web of complexities, blurring the lines between professional service and personality. As the couple continued to drink, Alex noticed them preparing to leave. He acknowledged their departure, bidding them farewell with a polite, "You guys are out, nice meeting you." The wife responded, explaining that her partner wasn't feeling well and she intended to drop him off at the hotel room, reassuring Alex that she would be back. However, Alex couldn't shake the skepticism that lingered from his recent misfortune. Having been robbed just a day before, trust had become a fragile commodity. He couldn't help but wonder if she would truly return, a hint of doubt coloring his expectations. Closing time approached, and Alex began the process of settling bills and counting his drawer. The clock ticked towards 3 pm, marking the end of his shift. As he focused on the task at hand, the bar gradually emptied, leaving him alone with his thoughts and the lingering echoes of the night. Out of the corner of his eye, he noticed the wife returning to the bar. Their eyes met, and she confidently declared, "Told ya I was gonna come back to see ya." A mixture of surprise and curiosity washed over Alex. The unexpected turn of events added a layer of intrigue to the day, and he couldn't help but be drawn into the mystery that seemed to unfold around him. The complexities of the lifestyle he had become addicted to revealed themselves in the subtle interplay between trust and doubt, desire and caution. As the wife reentered the bar, the narrative of Alex's day took an unforeseen twist. Seated at the bar, Donna extended an invitation, asking if Alex could hang out. He responded with enthusiasm, "Of course! I actually get off in 10 minutes. You made it back at a perfect time." Handing over the responsibilities to the relief bartender, Alex joined Donna, taking a seat beside her. She revealed her name, Donna, a woman in her late 40s who exuded confidence and allure. Alex couldn't help but notice her striking appearance, from her well-maintained figure to the seemingly perfect enhancements. As they continued to share drinks, the buzz in the air intensified, fueled by the shared energy between them. Donna, with a mischievous glint in her eye, asked Alex if he smoked weed. He responded with a grin, "Yes, of course. I live like 2 minutes away from here. We can walk to my apartment, so we can go smoke." Donna's face lit up with excitement, and she agreed, "Yeah, that sounds fun. Let's go." As they entered Alex's apartment, he opened the gate, welcoming Donna into his space. He offered her a seat on the bed, and with a slightly unsteady gait, he stumbled around, searching for his weed tray to roll up a blunt. After a bit of searching, he found it and joined her on the bed. Putting on some music to set the mood, they engaged in conversation as he expertly rolled up a blunt. The fragrant smoke began to fill the room as they shared the intoxicating experience. In the midst of the haze, Donna posed a provocative question, asking if Alex had ever had s*x and smoked at the same time. Alex, considering the proposition, admitted, "No, I cannot say I have." Donna, with a mischievous smile, suggested, "Well, wanna give it a try?" This time, Alex was determined not to let the opportunity slip away. He felt a sense of redemption in his grasp, a chance to rewrite the narrative of his past experiences. With newfound confidence, he responded, "Sure, why not?"
