Spending the afternoon with Catherine was oddly satisfying and a great distraction from the fact that I didn’t have my own mate. Helping plan Warren and Helen’s wedding has been amazing but just filled me with a sense of loneliness. I hate calling her a distraction but our conversation and hearing about her upbringing and home pack was exactly what it was. Being the pack's Gamma I haven’t ventured too far outside of our triangle of packs surrounding the inner city. It’s just how things work in a pack. The Alpha and/or Beta usually go for visits to other packs or to help when there is dire need. Someone needs to be left behind to look after their own pack and that’s where I come in.
