SONG: JERUSALEMA BY MASTER KG FT NOMCEBO AND BURNA BOY
A/N: I want to say sorry in advanced for all the errors I’ve not really edited the book plus I do my editing myself and I am no professional. Now we have officially started the journey with Ani so feel free to voice your thoughts about anything. Because I actually like seeing ya’ll comment and give your various opinions on my book. And let me let you know that I will be using a lot of Naija Pidgin because it’s like the everyday language of Nigerians in Nigeria and if you have questions please ask and I’ll try my best to answer all the questions I see. Yak eyin etȯŋȯ (let us begin).
ANI’S P.O.V
“ESITAR!” I heard my name from the most feared woman in my family so clearly even from my dream I had to hear if not I’d be dead and alive to regret not responding.
“Yes Mma” I jolted out of my bed so fast I was almost air borne only to hear mischievous laughter. ‘Chaii’ I thought ‘dem don do me back’. The laughter persisted while I honestly didn’t even try open my eyes too stunned to reply and also trying to find a way to repay the ‘Mumu wey do her dis kin tin, early in the morning oh’ plus I know the Mumu that woke me from my sleep.
“Miliky u no see the way u bin wan jump commot for bed chaii, Eka daddy!! Di se eyen eka mfo see as she dey lie down like pesin wey don die hew” my cousin continued that her yeye laughter.
(Come see your sister or sibling).
“Mangie! Mangie! U don start abi which kin tin be dis nau this early morning ke, don’t you that my mind don fly finish! No dey play dis kin play for morning ohhmm.” I was almost crying with rage and it was all because a back and forth prank-athon I had started.
It was last week I started this annoying game and now I am regretting it so fast. All I did was a very little thing very small oh but now Madeline wants to kill me with a heart attack, just because I pinched when my mother was talking to her causing her to yelp loudly and rather embarrassingly. No need to think that I am an imp I know that it’s not so little now, besides she was not really listening so I actually what I did was a wakeup call for her. Though after that my mother lectured her for half an hour and kept making comments about it throughout the day.
Madeline is called Mangie because her name sounds like one of Nigeria’s popular seasoning cubes and natural there’s actually no you don’t get a hilarious name in my country unfortunately for Madeline her own name stuck I think many people call her Mangie than her real name some may not know her real name.
Unlike Madeline only my family call me Miliky that’s because when I was younger I loved l*****g milk so much it pretty much food to me. I also could not pronounce milk I called it ‘Miliky’ that became my name to my family. Everyone has their funny names in my family even my Daddy.
Abeg let me think of what I will do to my evil cousin. She knows I don’t joke with sleeping especially in the morning I love sleeping in the morning and she just had to wake me this morning.
“Ani wake up stand up daddy is coming” and that is how I got out of beg so fast and to the toilet. My daddy simply hated the way I choose to sleep in the morning. Sometimes he who yells so loud I would jump out of bed to the floor and my sister and cousins enjoyed this and snickered lightly to avoid been spotted by my father to be the next victim.
“Has Estelle woken up” my daddy asked.
“Yes, uncle Ani a dem’idap,” Mangie replied.
(Ani is awake)
My daddy didn’t say anymore. All I heard were his retracting footsteps. Slowly, I came out of the bathroom to see my cousin sitting on the floor in laughter. “Just know you owe me” was all she said. Great, now I wake up with. Well, good morning world, my day has officially begun.
So ya’ll, that is chapter one. I apologize for mistakes. This is my first book. And I’ll try to post updates regularly. Swee Tie out.
