Chapter 7 He'll Agree to Anything

796 Words
After delivering her threat, Naomi lifted her chin and walked out of the dressing room wearing a sweet, flawless smile. Jade followed quietly behind her. The moment they appeared before the guests, murmurs rippled through the crowd. The bridesmaid dress Naomi had chosen for Jade was unusually extravagant and one size too small. The fabric clung tightly to Jade's body, emphasizing every curve. Combined with the overly dramatic makeup Naomi had insisted on, Jade looked both gaudy and exhausted, making Naomi's simple satin wedding gown appear even more elegant by comparison. Jade understood Naomi's intentions perfectly. But today was the day she planned to leave. She didn't want to cause any more trouble. So she simply played along. "Jade, you b***h! Where did you hide my daughter? Give Stephanie back to me!" Suddenly, Chloe rushed forward from the crowd. Chloe knew the truth perfectly well. But she acted like the perfect victim. As she cried out dramatically, she grabbed a glass of red wine and splashed it straight into Jade's face. At the same moment, Naomi secretly kicked Jade hard from behind. Caught completely off guard, Jade lost her balance and tumbled down the stone steps. Jagged rocks tore through her dress. The fabric ripped open, exposing her thigh and chest. Jade scrambled to cover herself, but it was impossible. "Jade! Are you alright?" Naomi called out loudly, pretending concern. Her voice drew even more attention. More guests turned to look. Jade's torn dress left her humiliatingly exposed under dozens of gazes. Accompanied by flashing lights and the constant clicking of camera shutters, mean-spirited disparagement and curses reached Jade's ears. "How shameless. She couldn't stop the wedding, so now she's trying to steal attention like this!" "Didn't she use the same trick years ago to seduce Mr. Garza? Well, it's not the same now. Look at her... She's aged terribly. Mr. Garza doesn't have such low standards!" In the midst of the chaos, a heavy shadow fell over Jade, who was trying her best to curl up. She looked up slowly. Felix stood in front of her. Dressed in a pristine white suit, he looked impossibly handsome. But his expression was so dark it froze the air. "Go change your clothes! Stop embarrassing yourself here!" His voice was low and harsh with anger. Jade scrambled to her feet. Naomi immediately wrapped herself around Felix's arm, soothing him with soft words and playful affection. The tension in Felix's jaw visibly eased. After leaving the crowd, Jade glanced back one last time. Felix was kissing Naomi. They stood together like a perfect couple. Jade looked away quickly. Then she walked toward the distant beach. Her steps were steady. "Don't worry. Felix still cares about you!" Just as Jade took a few more steps, she suddenly heard Chloe's voice nearby. She turned toward the sound. Chloe was standing in a quiet corner, video-calling Stephanie. "Oh, please. Look how the people online are tearing Jade apart. If Felix actually cared, he could end it with a snap of his fingers. But he hasn't. That tells you everything. And Naomi? I only picked her because she looks a little like you. And Felix fell for it instantly. He'll agree to anything she asks!" Jade's heart slammed violently in her chest. She pulled out her phone and started recording. "But if I suddenly go back now... Won't Felix suspect something?" Stephanie asked nervously from the screen. "Relax. I already thought of that. You'll say Jade kidn*pped you and kept you locked away for five years. That you finally escaped. Her grandmother is old and sick. She won't dare deny it! And if Felix ends up destroying her because of it... Even better. Saves us the trouble of getting our hands dirty!" Jade bit her lip so hard she tasted blood. It took every ounce of restraint not to storm over and scream at Chloe. This plan wasn't just cruel. It was meant to destroy her completely! Suddenly, a long horn echoed across the ocean. Moments later, a beam of light flashed rhythmically across the water. It was the signal Asher and Jade had agreed upon. It was time for her to leave. Jade quickly scheduled the video she had just recorded as a timed email. It would be sent automatically to Felix's inbox in twenty-four hours. Felix hated deception more than anything. Jade would let him deal with the Wallace family and Naomi himself. Her final act of revenge. After finishing everything, Jade ran straight toward the sea. Cold water rushed over her waist. Behind her, voices suddenly erupted. "Someone jumped into the ocean!" Jade slowly took a deep breath and plunged into the ocean. 'Felix, from this moment on, whether in heaven or hell, we will never see each other again.'
