When you hesitate to cut, you only invite trouble!
After a brief hesitation, Alex Knight hurled the empty wine bottle at the giant slug.
Crackling!
A flash of lightning exploded in the air. In Alex's eyes, just as the bottle was about five meters from the slug, the antenna on the slug's head sparked again. A thin blue lightning bolt shot out, crossing over four meters in an instant, and struck the bottle.
Boom!
The bottle shattered instantly, sending glass shards flying in all directions.
This is insane! Alex had originally thought that after discharging once, the giant slug would run out of power. Who would have thought it could still unleash electricity?
Rather than fear, this sight ignited Alex's fighting spirit, banishing his earlier fatigue.
Cursing under his breath, Alex let out a low growl, took a swift step forward, and drew out another empty bottle, hurling it at the giant slug.
Perhaps the slug needed time to recharge its electrical energy, as this time, the bottle Alex threw hit the slug's antenna head-on.
This wasn't something just anyone could achieve. If it weren't for Alex's high grenade accuracy during his time in the army, combined with a bit of luck, he might have missed.
The slug's antenna was very soft, possibly extremely sensitive, making it a weak spot. When hit by the bottle, a burst of electricity scattered, and the slug writhed in pain.
Seize the opportunity! Alex dashed to the side of the slug, gripping his knife in his right hand, and plunged it into the slug's head.
At this moment, Alex couldn't tell if he was saving someone or saving himself. He had only one thought: kill the giant slug!
Alex could feel the toughness of the slug's skin. The knife penetrated less than half a centimeter before being caught by the thick muscle layer underneath.
His hands felt a burning sensation. Looking down, he saw a few drops of blue liquid splashed on his hands from the opened skin.
This blue liquid was corrosive!
The slug thrashed violently, almost causing Alex to lose his grip on the knife.
At this point, Alex couldn't afford to worry. If the slug recovered and discharged again, he wouldn't stand a chance.
With a furious shout, Alex gripped the knife with both hands and pressed down hard. With a squelching sound, the sharp knife pierced through the thick muscle layer of the slug. Blue liquid covered Alex's hands, feeling like they were plunged into boiling water, almost making him lose his grip.
But Alex knew, at this moment, it was kill or be killed. There was no room for error.
"Die!"
Alex roared, stepping into a bow stance, twisting his waist, and using his whole body's strength, he pulled the knife downwards, creating a foot-long gash on the slug.
Severely wounded, the slug went berserk, thrashing wildly. Alex, now covered in blue liquid and feeling like he was in a furnace, had no strength left to hold onto the knife. He was thrown several meters away, crashing into an iron trash can.
Damn!
Alex couldn't even curse properly. The blue liquid burned painfully, making it hard to open his eyes. The impact on the trash can caused intense pain in his stomach, almost killing him.
The slug was incredibly strong, with the strength of a calf, and extremely vigorous, dragging its long wound across the ground like a fish out of water.
Struggling to open his eyes, Alex looked at the slug, feeling a chill in his heart.
Despite the long gash and the pool of blue liquid, the slug's bleeding slowed, and the wound started to close. The most terrifying thing was that the antenna on the slug's head was flickering with electricity again!
Not good!
Alex knew that insects had incredible vitality. If a human were injured like this, they would be near death. But this slug was recovering. If given more time to recharge, Alex would be in serious trouble.
Damn it! I don't have any strength left.
Alex regretted not exercising enough after leaving the army. Due to his busy life, he had put on some weight.
If it weren't for that, he wouldn't be in this situation.
Stay calm!
He needed to stay calm!
Panic would only consume more energy, leading to weakness!
Besides, he might have internal injuries from the impact.
Alex bit his tongue hard, using the sharp pain to drive away the other pains, but it wasn't enough. Pressing his right thumb into the web of his left hand, he lessened the stomach pain.
This was a trick Alex had learned.
During survival training in the army, eating bad food often caused stomach issues. Pressing the web of the hand could alleviate stomach pain, helping to avoid detection while hiding. But it was only a temporary fix.
With the pain in his stomach lessened, Alex felt his strength returning. The knife, now corroded by the blue liquid, was useless.
Rummaging through his backpack, Alex searched for anything usable against the giant slug.
Salt?
A smile appeared on Alex's swollen, corroded face.
Struggling to his feet, he rushed towards the struggling slug. He couldn't worry about a counterattack now.
Dodging the thrashing slug, Alex tore open the salt bag and poured it onto the slug's wound.
Sizzle!
The salt on the wound made the slug leap into the air like a firework, soaring over ten meters high before crashing down.
