879 Words
So, Lizzie knew that she promised a six thirty but she couldn't help that seven and a half time that she arrived that night. What happened was unexpected indeed on her part. It happened at four in the evening when she was in the shower getting soaked under the hot rain before she heard her front door unlocked and then closed just as fast. At first that noise scared her but, then even Melody knows her combination to the house so, she decided to dead the fear and confront her.Their talk was overdue anyway. But, when she got to the waiting room, all life was sucked out of her body and she remained completely frozen in place. "I swear, I know how much a strange naked man appearing out of nowhere can scare the s**t out of someone who previously locked their doors but, I need your help!" A man's desperate rumble was heard, confirming her eyesight that she was in danger. "But, I don't know you! What if you're here to take my life?" Said Lizzie holding her one towel tighter in her chest. Protective mechanism. "Would any hitman go to kill naked?" Asked the stranger helplessly. "You could be a psychopath for all I know..." Replied Lizzie taking two steps back instinctively. "But, I'm not!" Said the man seriously, walking towards Lizzie desperately, "Listen, I'm in deep s**t right now... my client is dead, some guys just came and ambushed us and...I..I escaped but, they are still looking for me!" "Someone died?!" Questioned Lizzie covering her mouth out of habit before they heard a doorbell and they both tensed and looked at each other and then the door. "Should I be scared now?" Lizzie asked the shaking stranger softly. She was scared shitless. "Please, help me... I don't wanna die tonight. Any other day but, please..., just not tonight" Begged the man in a shakey whisper. Lizzie didn't find whatever he said pitiful nor did she believe that he was a good guy but, she still decided to help him. Why? Call it a woman's gut feeling. She took a step forward and another one and after twenty three steps later she reached the door. After securing the premises were safe and her naked abductor was not in sight? She decided to open the door for the said bad guys. "Hello, ma'am hope you have a lovely stay at our hotel. My name is Sanchez, security guard of the hotel..." Said the guard offering Lizzie his ID card who accepted it haughtily since, nobody would dare do anything to her. "I don't remember calling for help" Said Lizzie looking dead in the eyes with the guard. She wasn't that brave on normal days maybe it was the excitement that gave her the courage. "Uh...Uhmn... Ma'am, did you see any man walk through here. He's unstable and very dangerous_" Said the guard carefully. "Are you out of your mind? What good would hiring security guards be if the boss needs to keep watch of any potential to be searched passerbys?" Yelled Lizzie at them sternly. "Then, you didn't see one?" Asked the other guard who in Lizzie's understanding wasn't the hotel's guard together with the other three. "Y'all wasting my time here" Said Lizzie impatiently before she slammed the door in their faces. But, she wasn't so confident now that she was facing her seemingly empty house, "Where the damn hell are you?!"Asked Lizzie with a fork that she found on the table where she was working hours earlier. "Are they gone? Woah, s**t!... Is that necessary?" Panicked the stranger when she saw what was pointed at him. "Well, I'm a delicate, fragile woman living alone with a not so sure where or how he got inside stranger in front of me, show me a better reaction to choose" "But, sharp objects scares me!" Complained the stranger, panicky. "Okay, I'm sorry but, can't you cover yourself up?" "So, this was why the coldness felt too much today" Mumbled the stranger taking the sofa cover to wear. "Yes and I'm quite behind on my schedule so, I'll excuse myself" Said Lizzie moving past the stranger cautiously to her bedroom. "Can I stay instead?" Suggested the stranger with a sweet smile only to be met with a glare from his host, "To room keep it?" "If I wanted that I could have called for room service" Replied Lizzie, starting to wear her clothes which were already on her bed. "You like it like this?" Asked the stranger shocked by the state of a girl's room. "Yes" "I can cook too" "Still a no" " I do laundry" "No" "Please, let me hide here for a night and I promise to be out of your hair in the morning" Begged the stranger since that was the only thing that seemed to be working in his favour. "... Just, don't use my towels or bed" Consented Lizzie with a sigh. "I promise" And just like that Lizzie felt like a murderer in association but, she wasn't scared of the goons to catch her room in the CCTV camera because the whole floor's camera system was controlled by herself so, they were safe. But, what if she was wrong into helping the stranger?.
