“We are taking the first test in office technology today. You got ready, right?” Susan whispered to me as we sat comfortably in the cab we were taking to school. I nodded, and then she added, “How did the hunt go? Had a great time?”
I shook my head, “I almost died if he didn't come for me. I said my last prayer already.”
Her face twisted, and she nudged me, “What are you talking about? When did you almost die?”
I took a deep gulp and told her everything, even as tears welled in my eyes. I couldn't find myself forgetting the incident that happened that night, as they were all fresh in my mind.
