I searched through my bag tossing all the unimportant things to find my notes in English. My eyes gazed at the notes I took, devouring all the sentences one by one.
The sound of footsteps closing in caught my attention, so I slowly lifted my head to take a look. I expected to see Ms. Rodriguez only to find out it wasn't her. Julian, the famous captain of the volleyball club, made his way to me looking messy.
“Hey! Just what are you doing, Luna?”
“It’s none of your business,” I coldly replied.
“Let me take a look at it.” Then, without approval, he grabs my notebook.
My blood boiled knowing that if I didn’t study I might just fail. Out of anger, I lunged forward, attempting to grab it back.
He stepped back and smirked at me. “Come on, it's not like I’d do anything to it.”
“I don't care, just give it back,” I exclaimed.
“Just let me see it.” He then made a shocked face, then said “Woah! You've written lots of notes. You really are a top student.”
I smirked and said “Of course, that's because I always study and listen to the teacher when discussing, unlike a certain someone."He clenched his fist and looked at me with fury in his eyes. “What did you just say?!” He said, grabbing my collar hard, preventing me from trying to set myself free. “What’s your problem?” He exclaimed.
“What? "I never said it was you, but to answer your question, my problem is you. Just the sight of you makes me want to puke,” I said, thinking he would throw his fist at me, but he let go of me and put my notebook on my desk quietly.
He leaned close to me then whispered. “Meet me at the canteen, I want to tell you something” then he made his way to his seat.”
I turned only to see Ms. Rodriguez writing something. I immediately sat down to avoid getting scolded.
As I sat down, I took a small glance at Julian, who was talking to his desk mate, Evie, my best friend.
My cheeks warmed up, turned the shade of red, my face felt as if it was on fire, as I imagined his handsome appearance. I realized, I’m blushing hard. I immediately grabbed my notebook which I placed at the side of my desk and with it I covered my face.
Out of nowhere, I felt someone’s eyes staring at me intently.
“Luna, just what is the reason behind your fight with Julian?” A familiar voice spoke.
I turned, and saw that it was just Anthony, my annoying yet kind and fun deskmate. He looked so curious to find out, so I inhaled and then paused, “ Well I kind of provoked him a little,” I said while looking at him with an awkward expression.
“A little? Bro he literally grabbed your collar yet, you still call it a little,” he said in a rather ironic tone.
I glared at him. Before I could say anything, “Miss president please come forward,” Ms. Rodriguez called out. The whole class then erupted into shock as I stood close to her.
“Could you please watch over your classmates, I have an important meeting to attend, thank you dear.”
Right after she left—the class started to make noises. I sat down on the teachers desk and boldly announced to the whole class “Everyone I am currently taking charge of this class as of now, so please maintain silence as I am listing all the loud students; you can talk with your friends but make sure to keep your voices down, and if you have any questions or want to do anything please ask for permission.”
After I announced the g**g, namely Julian, Evan, Kurt ,and Charles started whispering. I couldn't care less so I just looked around the whole room trying to spot anyone breaking the rules. Julian, the so-called leader of their g**g stood up and started staring at me intently. I stared back at him when he finally spoke.
“And, what if we want to make noise? What would you do about it?”
“What I'm gonna do is list you down and it's up to Ms.Rodriguez to decide what to do with those who are listed.” I answered confidently.
“Guys, let's make some noise" he suddenly said—trying to convince others to join.
Hyped up—others started joining them one by one. Soon the whole room was instantly filled with their voices.
Mad—I raised my voice at them, attempting to stop them. They didn’t listen—a paper ball flew right past me—I finally snapped.
