Mia’s pov I sat in my room, staring at the blank wall in front of me. There was fear in my heart and a part of me wanted to put that bloody gun back into the suitcase and crawl into my bed. But the more I thought about how much more time I could spend with Jonathan as his wife, the more determined I was to protect him from this attack. The clock on the wall ticked slowly and time felt like it didn’t move. But hours soon drifted past and the sky dimmed.
