They stopped fighting and quickly looked toward the strange noise. Two quick gunshots followed, scaring them with their weird sound...Beelze, who fired the shots, was surprised. The six-eyed Devilkin he shot in the stomach didn't die right away. Instead, he cried out in pain and tore a big piece of flesh from Beelze’s arm. It hurt so much Beelze aimed the g*n at the Devilkin's belly and shot two more times. This time, the six-eyed Devilkin froze in place. After Beelze pushed him away, he fell next to Beelze, bleeding from three bullet holes, quickly turning the sand red.Covered in blood and breathing hard, Beelze got up and stared at the six-eyed Devilkin. Even though he was badly hurt, the Devilkin was still alive. This made Beelze angry, so he pointed his g*n at the Devilkin's head and shot again! This time, the six-eyed Devilkin went silent...To save and make the g*n appear, Beelze even deleted the Precision Element. At such a close range, accuracy wasn't his main concern. But it took four shots to kill the six-eyed Devilkin, which surprised Beelze. His strength was impressive, unlike the Devilkin worm he killed earlier. There was a big difference between hatched Devilkin and those that hadn't. Maybe the g*n didn't have enough power...The spirit of the six-eyed Devilkin came out of his body, stronger and brighter than the one Beelze got earlier. Beelze hesitated to take it. As expected, nearby little Devilkin gathered around him, curious about the gunshots and the high-quality spirit, their Devilish greed kicking in.Beelze was in bad shape, his upper body covered in wounds, and his left shoulder bitten. Though the Devilkin's spit wasn't deadly, it made half of his body numb, showing white bones where the flesh was torn.Even so hurt, Beelze couldn't relax. He was afraid the little Devilkin would attack if they saw he was weak. So he raised his g*n, aimed at a nearby Devilkin, and shot! The shot missed, but it landed close enough to scare the little Devilkin, who quickly ran away. Beelze aimed at another, but this one was smart and ran before he could shoot. After that, the little Devilkin ran every time Beelze aimed his g*n. They didn't know he had one bullet left but knew the g*n was dangerous and didn't want to get hurt. After a while, Beelze didn't need the g*n. He just showed his teeth, and the little Devilkin ran away by themselves.Beelze got what he wanted, but he didn't know the Devilkin liked spirits so much. As long as he didn't put away the six-eyed Devilkin’s spirit, the little Devilkin gathered again, giving him a headache. He felt hungry for the spirit glowing by his feet, drooling. It must be the Spirit Master effect. Even though he wanted to taste the spirit, Beelze knew spirits were important to survive. He stored the spirit in the system, and the light vanished.Seeing the Spirits in Possession counter go from zero, Beelze realized the weak spirit was probably from the six-eyed Devilkin. But he didn't get why it was "about to disappear." It should be his first spirit. After making the g*n appear, the spirit stayed, showing different Elements used spirits differently.Beelze was sorry. If he knew the system stored spirits, he would have saved the Devilkin worm’s spirit first, and not fought the six-eyed Devilkin. When the spirit vanished, the little Devilkin got restless. Beelze cautiously aimed his g*n, and they ran to other fights. Finally sitting down, Beelze sighed with relief. But he forgot he had a tail now, and sitting on it hurt."I need to get used to my new form," Beelze said, moving his tail and looking at the strange gun.But Beelze was disappointed. There was no other way to say it—the g*n was too weird! If he had to describe it, he’d say "cheap special effects"—not even worth a cent! It looked so fake! The g*n Beelze conjured was already lopsided. He hadn't colored it or defined its material due to the emergency. It felt like holding a white plastic toy g*n with jagged plastic spikes everywhere, straight out of a mold. Beelze could swear it wasn't as good as the toy guns he played with as a kid! But here's the weird part—this cheap, special effects g*n could actually shoot and was quite powerful. It was all because Beelze added a Firearm Element to it. He realized for the first time how extraordinary this custom system was! Defining Attack using text through the system felt like wielding the power of words, similar to the information-material conversion tech in the novels Beelze read. Plus, it was easy to use. Thinking back to his gaming days fighting monsters and questing for equipment, Beelze felt a surge of happiness. Now, he was creating his own gear. With another spirit in hand, not bad in quality, Beelze didn't rush to upgrade the revolver. Instead, he summoned the system interface and started conjuring again. This time, he drew a test tube with a line indicating the liquid level, and colored the inside blue. A test tube filled with blue liquid appeared, defined with the text: Antidote! His first priority was to cure his poisoned state. To conserve resources, he kept the antidote simple, intending to use up the spirit about to disappear. The poison from the six-eyed Devilkin shouldn't be too strong, right? Just before saving, Beelze had second thoughts and changed the liquid color to dark brown, adding a new element. Satisfied with the changes, he saved it. As expected, the spirit about to disappear vanished, and a dark brown potion materialized in Beelze's hand. "Here goes," Beelze said, lifting the potion. "Time for a nerdy toast!" He drank it down eagerly.
