Chapter Eleven
I woke in my own sweet bed. In be the blink of an eye, floating in the sky one second, home in bed the next, and that was the way the magic worked.
Well, the magic wasn’t my concern today because my Dad was visiting! I couldn’t wait to see him.
My cheek tingled when I woke and felt damp to the touch. I looked at my fingers and saw a silvery residue, like sparkling sand. It alarmed and thrilled me, and I went to the bathroom to examine.
Right on my cheek, in vibrant and now I’m sure effervescent lipstick, was a kiss. I knew those lips well enough by now to recognize the mark, even if I hadn’t seen her message, scrawled on the mirror in stardust:
Sorry I split. Off taming dragons. See you soon!
