LUCA POV
‘Something is wrong’ he called Rosa, her phone was dead. He went to her house and found that the lights were off, everything in him was on alert at this point, it’s 0101 am in the morning, “Where are you dammit?!” he hissed under his breath. With his heightened sense of hearing he heard, a scream in the distance, “Rosa?”
He ran in the direction of the scream and found an abandoned warehouse. He got a whiff of Rosa’s blood and crashed open the doors, finding Rosa on the floor and the men kicking at her. Luca came in, ‘swish!’ with one strike, he was holding one of the men’s throat in his hands, “Why don’t you pick on someone your own size? You dare to touch what’s mine? Big mistake” he threw him to the ground. With the force he landed, his skull was instantly crushed. The others saw what happened and feared for their lives. They tried to run but Luca didn’t let not any one of them go. Kicking and slashing at the men, every single one of them did not survive the m******e, the leader then tried to discreetly escape. Luca caught him by the collar, “Who the f**k are you to touch my girl?”
“I am sorry, someone sent to get the girl killed, I was doing it for money sir! Please let me go!” he struggled in Luca’s death grip.
“Who sent you to do this?” Luca asked restraining his anger. He gripped the man’s throat even tighter.
“I- I don’t know, he never told us his name, he gave me 600 000 to kill this girl, please let me go! I promise I won’t happen again.
“Pity you don’t have a second chance to live,” with that, Luca tore his throat out and threw his body to the floor. He ran towards an unconscious Rosa, “Sweet thing, I am here, you are safe okay?” he kissed her forehead and carried her out of the warehouse. He took a quick look around and ran through the woods with her in his arms. He made sure no one saw him as he travelled close to the speed of light. He went to his villa and opened the door, “Prepare a hot bath for me!”
“Yes sir!” running to the washroom, one of the servants did as she was told. Luca went to his bedroom and set on his bed. He looked at Rosa for a long moment, afraid of the worst possible case, ‘What if they came for her? What would have happened if I hadn’t got there on time? f**k!’ he shivered at the thought f her being in any more danger.
“Rosa? Sweet thing I need you to wake up and tell me you are okay, please,” for the first time in his life, he was genuinely scared. “Come on baby, I need you to wake up for me.” He cooed on hoping Rosa would open her eyes to the sound of his voice. She didn’t wake up just yet. He felt despair creep up upon him, he watched her chest rise and fall steadily, hoping that the eyes that took his breath away would open. He waited for a few more minutes before he decided to put her in the bath. He carefully took her clothes off and inspected every line on her body, lightly touching them, the bumps on her hands for being tied up, the welts on her legs – she fought too hard, the bruises on her lower abdomen, ‘those bastards kicked her’ he felt bitterness rise in his cold heart. He gently picked her up and headed for the bathroom. Placing her in the bath, he washed and massaged her body, he looked her, ‘I have never loved anyone this much, I saw the sun shine through your eyes. I found the light in you, that brought me out of my darkness.’ He washed each wound with care.
There was a cut near on her lower thigh, he slit his wrist and put a drop of his blood on her leg- the open wound on Rosa’s thigh closed up, so did his. He watched her closely, counting the number of times of pulses on her neck. He laid her on his chest, ‘Fill the emptiness in my soul with your light sweet thing, come back to me. Don’t leave just yet, I just found you. Don’t leave me in this darkness, don’t let it swallow me whole, my dear Rosa.’ He thought, tears streamed down his face as he held onto the girl laying on his chest.
He took her out of the washroom, and placed her on his bed after dressing her in a red silk robe. He watched her all night, hoping she would wake up. He fought hard not to fall into despair – he felt himself losing hope, the last ray of sunshine was slowly fading away. He helplessly watched, ‘I can take life very easily, but I can’t give it. Please wake up, don’t leave me.’
