CHAPTER 16 MAUREEN Andre was waiting at the entrance of the rooftop restaurant when I arrived. He looked just the same—button-down shirt rolled at the sleeves, kind smile, warm eyes. He opened his arms with a grin. “Maureen.” I hugged him tightly. “Hey, Dre. You look good.” “So do you. Damn.” He pulled back slightly, his eyes flicking down over my dress. “Still turning heads, huh?” I laughed as we walked in, the wind soft against my skin. “I can’t believe you agreed to a weekday date,” he teased, handing me a menu. “The Maureen I knew had strict rules about romance and business mixing.” “Trust me,” I muttered, opening the menu, “a lot has changed.” “Oh yeah?” He leaned forward. “Talk to me.
