CHAPTER 18 DOMENICO The call came in just past noon. I stood by the window of my office, watching the sun catch the edge of my watch, when my phone buzzed in hand. The voice on the other end trembled with panic. “The shipment, boss. From Calabria. It didn’t make it.” My jaw tensed. “What do you mean it didn’t make it?” “They were waiting. Authorities intercepted it before the van hit the road. Someone leaked the route.” The silence that followed was razor-sharp. A slow, dangerous pressure built in my chest. “I want a list,” I said coldly. “Every name with access to that intel. If anyone so much as breathed that route in the wrong direction, I’ll tear their tongue out before I bury them.” “Yes, sir.” I ended the call. For a moment, I didn’t move.
