MAUREEN
The tension between us was so thick, I could almost taste it. And yet, all I could think about was how badly I wanted to provoke him, to see what he would do when pushed to the edge. I couldn’t deny the electric charge that ran through me every time our eyes met, the way his presence alone made my heart race and my body ache.
I couldn’t sleep. I needed something, anything, to distract myself from the heat that had been simmering between us since the moment I arrived.
