Cade could feel the burning in his lungs. He had been running for a while now, but he hadn't been able to lose them and heard them gaining on him. He made a sharp turn as a last resort and found himself in a dead end. The walls were too high for him to scale. He pinned himself against the wall and ducked behind a row of trash cans. They ran by and missed him. Cade sat for a moment to catch his breath and couldn't stop himself from breathing heavily. He heard their footsteps coming back his way.
