Chapter 14
Gerard considered going after her as she stormed off, but he thoroughly disliked being spoken to in that way. He decided that he would allow her some time too cool off and realize just how unreasonable she was being, and then she would come back and apologize. When he heard the sound of a car driving away, he got even angrier, vowing to make her come to him. It was around an hour later when he heard a the car pull back in to the driveway and he smiled to himself, thinking that he had won.
He was so pleased with himself that it took him a moment to realize that there were two sets of footsteps entering the house and whoever it was, they seemed in quite a hurry. He jumped up and rushed to the hall in time to meet his brother, his expression clearly one of concern.
