I'd never been in this part of New York before. The ultra-wealthy district where even the smallest properties started at nine figures. "We're approaching the Blackwood estate, Miss Bennett," the driver announced, his voice professionally detached. I peered through the window, trying to calm my racing heart. The Blackwood estate was located in the most valuable villa area in New York. The mansions here were worth more than $1 billion each, according to what I'd heard. As we turned onto a private road, I caught my first glimpse of the Blackwood home. It wasn't just a mansion—it was practically a compound.
