The market, Seraphina learned, was more of a mish-mash of ramshackle tents and stalls draped with an assortment of rainbow fabrics draped overhead to form a brightly coloured patchwork canopy that cast jewel-toned shadows on the ground. The carriage arrived at the entrance to the market in record time and during the lunch rush, which Willow stated was perfect for their trip. In the spider’s words, this meant that most of the fabric and tailor shops wouldn’t be too crowded as most of the shoppers would be piling themselves across the district where the restaurants and food stalls were located. Seraphina yelped when he grabbed her wrist and dragged her between the maze of wood and corrugated metal to a tucked away shop behind a larger one that sold a random collection of children’s toys.
