Numarin led the way down a spiraling staircase, deep into the heart of Mar Valion. Iarion followed immediately behind him with Felara bringing up the rear. Barlo rode along with Felara in silence. The Unborn woman had kept him on a short leash since their arrival in Saviadro’s domain. He had tried several times to speak during their audience with the Fallen One, but without success. Felara’s control over her own form was stronger than his had been when she had been his passenger... Once the deal between her and Saviadro had been struck, Saviadro had sent his lackey off to lead Iarion and Felara to the portal.
