Beginning of chapter 1:
It was a very common morning for the students as they arrived at school. It was filled with laughter. Everyone was either, preparing for class or gathering in small groups and chatting happily until the deafening sound of the bell were to indicate the start of the first class of this bright new day.
There were a lot of little groups of students scattered all along the large corridor but one of them stood out from the others. It was a huge group, as if everyone wanted to surround something marvelous, amazing, beautiful. They seemed to want to see into the center, wanting to get a glance, even if just a quick one, at whatever, or whoever was in there.
With a pretty face, deep and mysterious purple eyes; a slender, yet strong body and a kind, yet reserved smile that would melt even the angels, he was, indeed, a view worth to be seen. He was like a work of art, as beautiful on the outside as in the inside. He was Mitsuaki Yoshinobi. Every girl wanted to be his girlfriend, every boy envied him and literally everyone wanted to be his friend. He has always been kind but very composed and as the people surrounded him, he politely responded to whoever talked to him, slowly, as if breathing his words.
There was a sort of warm and peaceful air as they were all waiting for the bell to ring, however, it wouldn’t be the sound of the school’s bell which would put an end to this beautiful and heartwarming setting.
“Mr. Popular!!” out of the blue, a loud voice resounded through the corridor causing everyone stop in their tracks, shut their mouths and turn around towards the voice, wondering about the sudden scream.
Standing at a distance was a guy with a rather extravagant appearance. His orangish-brown hair was messy and unevenly cut, with the left side being shorter than the right side. He was wearing plaid green trousers and an outsized bright-orange sweater. There was a band aid covering a little part of his right cheek. He had cut off the sweater’s right sleeve and tied it to his arm while the other sleeve was so long it covered his arm completely. This guy was Ichi Bakamura.
He was standing firmly. His sparkling yellow eyes, fixed only on Mitsuaki, reflected his conviction. With big, fast strides, he immediately began to approach him. His heart was beating faster and faster, so loud it seemed like it could be heard in the now silent corridor as he hurriedly walked towards Mr. Popular himself. And when he was close enough, he exclaimed just as loudly as the first time: “Give me your life!!”
Upon hearing this, some students started gossiping, some others just stood there silently, but everyone stared curiously at the scene unfolding before them.
“What the—”
>
As if synchronized, the so awaited bell rang, interrupting Mitsuaki just as he was starting to speak after seeing this unexpected situation. Upon hearing the bell, all of the students began to run to their respective classrooms, bumping into one another and dragging Ichi away. Mitsuaki, still trying to understand what had just happened, could only watch as Ichi was being dragged by the torrent of people and felt how a drop of sweat formed on his forehead when he saw the poor guy desperately struggling to escape. Still feeling a little lost, he was pushed towards the classroom by his classmates.
“What...?” It was the last think he could mutter before being pushed into his class.
