My eyes flash open, and I jerk, startled. My body was only inches away from slamming onto cold, hard pavement. I push up on my elbows, unaware of my surroundings and glance over my shoulder. Dominic is sound asleep beside me, peaceful and quiet as sweet reality rushes back in. I close my eyes and sigh, wiping away the sweat from my forehead, the rapid thud of my heart still pounding in my ears. Stupid dream.
