GIANNA'S POV The rays of morning light slipped through the curtains, brushing gently against my face. I blinked slowly, my eyes fluttering open as I stared up at the ceiling in silence. Memories of yesterday hit me like a storm. Tears welled up in my eyes as I instinctively reached for my now empty belly and I let out a heart wrenching sob. My poor baby. He had to suffer because of my carelessness. The only soul who could have made me a mother… was gone before I even had the chance to hold him. A loud cry escaped my lips. I had never felt such pain.
