OPHELIA'S POV The day hadn't gotten worse until I saw my parents walk into the courtyard, their hands cuffed, their faces filled with fear. I felt the sweat on my jaw trickle down to my collarbone. Everyone sitting comfortably wore expressions of mockery and satisfaction, none more than Gianna. Her laughter reignited the hatred I held for her, and I clenched my fists tightly. My eyes shifted to Ryker and my heart ached. His face and body were battered, sores and whip marks covered his arms. I sniffled, trying to hold back my tears.
