"This is where I work!" Grace took Mia to the exhibition room, in which a lot of works were hung. Several of them were the manuscripts of famous artists, which were very valuable.
"Magnificent!" Mia gave her a thumbs-up.
"Of, course!" Grace admitted in self-confident, "Being edified in such an environment every day, I feel like an artist. It's just that I have a poor salary!"
"You don't lack money at all!" Mia joked her. In fact, she envied Grace who was raised in a rich and loving family. Her parents always supported her to do what she liked, so she always looked carefree.
Grace chuckled and asked. "How are you recently? Is your grandmother feeling better?"
She knew that Mia had been working to pay for her grandmother's nursing fees, so she despised the Qiao family's stingy behavior in her mind.
"It's still the same as before!" Mia smiled.
The two talked for a while, mostly about the interesting things that Grace encountered when she worked here. Mia didn't mention what happened in the bar last night, she was not willing to let Grace worry about her.
At noon, the two had lunch in a nearby cafe. Since Mia had received the first-class scholarship, she insisted on treating Grace to a meal. It was difficult for Grace to refuse such kindness.
In the afternoon, Mia was going to the hospital to visit her grandmother, and after that was her night shift in bar.
When she was on the way, she suddenly received her father's call, sternly demanding her to go back to Qiao's mansion.
The Qiaos rarely looked for her, unless there had been something to wrong. After hanging up the phone, Mia stopped a taxi and went to No. 8 of Yunjin Road.
After getting out of the taxi, Mia walked into the house. Just after she entered the door, she was slapped in the face.
Although she was mentally prepared, she didn't expect that they would be these rude to her.
Andrew glared at her angrily. "Bastard, you're really a shame on me. How dare you work in that kind of place. What a disgrace you brought to our family!"
Mia felt her cheeks tingle and tasted the smell of blood in her mouth. She looked at her so-called biological father in front of her, and then looked at the mother and daughter who were sitting on the sofa watching them. What a tragic life she had!
"If you pay my tuition on time and give me basic living expenses every month, I can consider resigning!" Her voice was neither humble nor pushy, and her eyes were fixed on Andrew.
Andrew was speechless. He turned to his wife Jessie and asked, "What's going on?"
Jessie said innocently: "I have to care about so many matters every day, how can I remember these trivialities? Besides, if I forgot, why don't you tell me!"
Mia sneered, hadn't she come to ask for money? But Jessie taunted her so malicious that made it become the last thing she wants to do in her life.
"Yes, you remember to buy Ann Porsche, clothes, and jewelry, but you forget about my tuition fee!" Mia said loudly and clearly. She had enough of their hypocritical faces.
"How dare you talk to my mother like this? Are you ill-bred? Don't forget you're just an illegitimate girl, and you're not qualified enough to compare with me! " Ann, who had been standing by, finally rushed to Mia indignantly.
"Andrew, look at your good daughter. I have worked so hard for this family over the years. My own family has helped you a lot, haven't they? And I need to raise a daughter for others, but it turned out she is only an ungrateful girl!" Jessie wiped her tears as she said this. "Am I wrong to be kind to my own daughter? It's your fault that you didn't have a good mother. It's all your fault!"
