Chapter 5 Chapter 5. Pleasing the Grandfather

　　There were very few classes in the last week of the semester, so Mia felt that the time passed particularly fast. On Thursday, assistant Xu called and said that he would pick her up at school at nine o'clock on Saturday morning to see Alfred's grandfather together.

　　As time went by, it was the weekend. The dormitory for four was empty. There were two roommates who usually lived with their boyfriends outside. Grace also moved out last night, for she found a part-time job in summer. In order to go to work more conveniently, she rented a house outside.

　　Mia went out on time at 8:30. She thought she would be half an hour earlier, but when she walked to the gate of the school, a black Bentley had already stopped there. She knew the car.

　　Mia trotted over, opened the door, and sat in.

　　She apologized:"Sorry to keep you waiting!"

　　"I just arrived!" Assistant Xu was very polite. "Mr Xi had a brief meeting in the morning, and he went to hospital directly after it!"

　　He simply explained it to Mia. She nodded.

　　Soon, they arrived at a military sanatorium. It turned that grandfather had a heart attack again not long ago. Although it was not very serious, the Xi family was still worried. So they sent him to the sanatorium. The medical resources and equipment here were all the first-class, so that they could observe grandpa's condition at any time.

　　Assistant Xu took Mia to the third floor. As soon as they got out of the elevator, they saw a young man in a white coat standing at the end of the corridor talking to Alfred. The man saw her coming and sized her up with interest for several times before leaving.

　　Mia was a little uncomfortable, she walked towards them slowly. Alfred stood there with hands in his pockets, wearing neat shirt and trousers. When Mia came to him, he naturally held her hand.

　　Mia felt that her heart suddenly beat fast. The man's hand was big and warm. She looked up at him, only to see his good-looking profile.

　　Opening the door of the ward, she saw that the old man was leaning against a pillow with his eyes closed. When he heard the sound, he immediately opened his eyes.

　　"Grandpa, we're coming!" Alfred pulled Mia forward.

　　"Nice to meet you, grandpa. I'm Mia!" Mia greeted him politely immediately.

　　The old man, who had no expression before, suddenly smiled, and his eyes wandered several times on the hands they were holding.

　　"Mia! We finally have a meet!" He patted the bed and said, "Come on, sit down!"

　　This was the first time Mia had seen his grandpa. He was very thin, but in good spirits.

　　"I asked Alfred to bring you back and show me, but he always said that he didn't have time. I feel so sorry for this!" Grandfather looked at Mia and said while glaring at Alfred.

　　Alfred did not refute, the way he looked at his grandfather had always been very gentle. It was not difficult to tell that he was truly filial to his grandfather.

　　Thinking of all kinds of reasons for their marriage, Mia thought for a moment and said, "He's really busy these days, and doesn't have much free time!"

　　"Good girl!" The old man patted her hand. She was so considerate.

　　At this time, the nurse came in with the medicine and a cup of water in her hand. It was time to take medicine again.

　　"I don't feel pain or itchy all over my body, but I have to take so much medicine every day, as if I was living by this things" Grandfather waved his hand, not willing to take medicine.

　　Mia smiled. He was very similar to her grandmother in this way.

　　She turned to take the tray in the nurse's hand. The nurse immediately answered her with a grateful smile, which showed that it was a big problem to help grandfather to take medicine.

　　"Grandpa, my grandmother also needed to take a lot of medicine every day. Although she was also very reluctant, she ate the pills on time or I would be very worried." Mia said. People said that when someone grow old, he would become a child and needed to be coaxed.

　　Grandfather thought about it and agreed with her. Besides, she was the granddaughter-in-law he met for the first time, he couldn't let her laugh at him, so he took all the pills obediently.

　　Mia had been brought up by her grandmother since she was a child, so she could find a suitable topic to talk with the olds. Alfred was instantly ignored. He stood for a while then went out.
