WREN I made it back to the black market on schedule, which honestly felt like an achievement after everything that had happened lately. I told Ash it was just a follow-up visit and didn't bother explaining much beyond that. I had expected him to ask questions like always, but he didn't. He was sitting at the table where he was supposed to be resting, and all he did was tell me to be careful. Before leaving, I reminded him to stay off his injured leg and actually listen to me for once. The walk gave me too much time to think. That was usually a bad thing. The last few days had been a mess. The Packhouse, meeting Elias after three damn years, Miranda slapping me in front of half the Pack, and Ash sitting across from me at breakfast looking like he was having a personal crisis every time
