Curse of Black Sun - I

Mr Griffiths and Lenin were deeply concerned by Henry Oswald's expression; they felt it was a bad decision, and that turmoil may explode from every direction, destroying the town's tranquility. Henry couldn't believe he'd done such a thing. All three were deafeningly quiet. Henry immediately reaches into his pocket, empties it, and retrieves a pocket watch, which he places on the table. “Ivan Bogdan is the name he is called and handed me this watch for the ride and this soup which I am supposed to deliver him,” explained Oswald calmly as he didn’t know anything about him. “Ivan Bogdan!” exclaimed Lenin, “hell, you know his name and he’s not from here. How could you accept him in your cart to the town? Looks like you dug everyone’s graves with your own hands, innit Henry?” criticized Lenin bluntly; he face was pale red in anger. “What’s with this pocket watch? Show me here,” asked Lenin inspecting the watch. “What is this symbol inscribed on it?” questioned Lenin. “Looks like some type of serpentine knot to me,” responded Mr Griffiths on analysing it. It was quite heavy metal with a green-snake like figure which covered the watch. “Isn’t it like the one we saw on the armour of the Viktyrsgard’s men?” replied Lenin. “Exactly, this Ivan Bogdan is a mole of Viktyrsgard,” pitched Mr Griffiths. “Ay, butcher tell us precisely the whole lot,” emphasized Lenin. Henry, with a deep breath begins his story frosm the moment he encounters Ivan. “Just like any other morning I went to the shore of Waterford and just like yesterday the fishermen stacked fish in my cart,” said Henry “Didn’t they let you fish?” asked Lenin. “Exactly! They didn’t let me fish, upon asking them they said it’s the new order for non-Waterford folks. Following the collection of the fish, I went over to the meat vendors and I paid and exited from the town as usual. “Well now you seem rested after arriving safely from Waterford,” taunted Lenin. “On arriving in the highlands, I returned my gaze to the town of mystery, pondering the fate of the town, and re-boarded the cart to return to the town. I heard something with the fishes not soon after, and when I turned around, it was him, this young lad with the herring. I came to a complete halt when he handed me this pocket watch with a herring in his mouth that he was chewing on, and he requested that I drive him to a nearby valley from the town of Wexford. I was anxious so without further questions I started routing towards the valley. Whilst we were crossing the main square he told me not to distress and he is no threat to him or its people. He’s a traveller and was captivated by Viktyrsgard in Waterford and had to escape into the safe land. From that moment, I was relaxed and we casually talked for a bit and I also told him that I will bring him soup in the evening in the valley. Then he explained to me about the Curse of the Black Sun,” revealed Henry. “Woah! What did he tell you about the curse?” asked Lenin. “Well, I was petrified to know everything. He started with a myth of Edgar, that on the creation of Edgar, it was not only Edgar who was born but also the Olafur. They share the same magical base as the Sapphires. The five creators of Edgar, who were made for the island's defence, were brothers with a father from Viktyrsgard and a mother from this current area, Wexford. And one of the brothers didn't like the fact that Edgar was created for Wexford, so he secretly took a portion of the energy and used it to make Olafur for the Viktyrsgard in reminiscence of his father. The battle that occurred a decade ago between Olafur and Edgar was between themselves and after the fall of Edgar it led to the creation of The Curse of Black Sun. Because a part of Edgar was killed and a part of Edgar lived inside Olafur. The Curse will break havoc on the day when Olafur will return to Wexford and will blind everyone whoever exposes themselves to the black sunlight. This curse will remain as long as Olafur will be in Wexford and it will result in mass disaster for the people of Wexford if something is not done anytime soon. After that we reached the valley and I left him there and got to my shop. “Crickey! Butcher are you joking? It does sound insane.” Trembled Lenin in fear after learning about the curse. “Its true Lenin, that’s what he told me,” replied Henry. “Well, I don’t believe anything that mole said to you. It can be a plot against us from the Waterford Kingdom,” advised Lenin. “Hmm… this pocket watch proves that he is one of those guard from Waterford and could pose a threat to our people but then why did he told you about the curse? This is puzzling, we must see him as soon as possible,” said Mr Griffiths. “You’re right Craig Griffiths, we must see him and get to know the entire truth and about his true identity,” replied Henry. “Okay, let’s go and find out the truth,” concluded Mr Griffiths. So, the Lenin served last of the soups to the farmers, closed his soup station and they departed towards the valley in search for Ivan. After an hour, they reached the valley and it was silent there with no sightings of Ivan. “I told you, he was an infiltrator,” said Lenin to Henry after not seeing Ivan in the valley. “No, he can’t be an infiltrator, I had also heard about the Curse of Black Sun. Whatever he has been saying could be real and this is the time when we can save our Wexford. Let’s continue our search,” insisted Mr Griffiths. And then they began their search, hollering his name in the valley. And after a while, Ivan jumps off the tree and finds himself in front of them. Lenin falls down by the sudden appearance of Ivan in front of him. A young chap with pale yellow shirt, with brown suspenders and deep green trousers. He had blond hair unlike Wexford folks who had black and ginger hair. He was not so muscular but looked smart with folded sleeves. “Crikey! You scared the hell out of me. You dumbbell!” barked Lenin on falling. Mr Oswald lends a hand to get his friend Lenin on foot. “Ivan is your name, is that correct?” asked Mr Griffiths walking close to him. “Yes, I am Ivan Bogdan, that’s correct. I’m from Sladcheskov,” replied Ivan, widening his eyes. Clearly signs of nervousness could be seen on his frowned forehead. “This is Craig Griffiths and he is Lenin Luxeria and you know me,” introduced Mr Oswald to Ivan by spreading his arms as he was eased. Mr Griffiths was perplexed after learning the true location of Ivan and it was confirmed that he isn’t from Viktyrsgard so he asked more about him. “I am from far lands in the south west and my homeland was attacked by Viktyrsgard and they took a few prisoners from our land Sladcheskov and killed the rest of the people. I was lucky to be imprisoned and others weren’t. My heart sank seeing the entire city being demolished in front of my eyes,” sighed Ivan with a tear in his eye. Recalling the incident made him upset. He looked down constantly, whilst describing the event. “So, then they held us captivated in the ship for many months until yesterday when the ship reached the shore of Waterford. Immediately, we were transferred to the Blatir House, which was a prison of a different kind, a mental torcher place. I waited there until the night and stunned one of the cell guards and took something from his pocket, thought it was a key but later found out it was a watch which I gave to Mr Oswald. So, I waited and waited until I saw an opportunity to sneak into his cart and escape the horrors of Blatir House,” said Ivan, taking a pause for the heavy breath. “I am unhappy to hear that and what you’ve been through,” condoled Mr Griffiths by removing his hat and lowering his head whilst nodding sideways as a sign of no, this shouldn’t have happened. He closed his eyes and took a breath. “What do you know about the curse and how do you know about it? Do you think there is any solution to overcome it?” asked Mr Griffiths whilst wearing his hat again. “Oh, Craig, how many questions do you have for him? Let him sit otherwise the soup will get cold. Let him finish the soup first,” proposed Mr Oswald by handing him the soup bowl. “Okay, fine. Come on, let’s sit and finish the soup first you must be hungry,” said Mr Griffiths. They all sat down, and Ivan started drinking the soup. A warm aroma of soup fills the valley, making Lenin proud of the soup he prepares. Mr Griffiths was impatiently waiting to know more about the curse. A few moments later, a roar of an animal could be heard from beyond the valley in the jungle. They were terrified and soon after they could see the fire from the forests, some forces approaching with the fire in hand they knew who it was and tried to run but they surrounded them and all hell loose break.
