Soup of Destiny

1265 Words
Smoke surrounded the valley and the hailing of Viktyrsgard can be heard but nothing clear to see and all dark. On the subsequent day guards from Waterford could be seen on the streets of Wexford patrolling in search for someone. The main square was also filled with the guards probing inhabitants house all over the town. Many individuals were in distress by such act after so long. Sabrina was interrogated about the missing man (Ivan) and everyone was worried with the detention of Mr Griffiths, The Butcher and Lenin. The three were immediately captured and transferred to the Waterford for questioning. “Lenin, hey Lenin do you hear me? Wake up come on wake up, open your eyes,” stuttered Mr Oswald waking up the Lenin who was unconscious. In that moment guard brings Craig back from interrogation and Lenin revives with a headache. “Where am I? Why my head is hurting?” said Lenin. “We were captured by the Waterford guards now we are imprisoned here,” explained Mr Griffiths. “Come over you sloth,” yelled the guard and took Lenin. After probing every house in Wexford, the guard returns in Waterford and informs Baldr that they didn’t found Ivan in the entire Wexford. “Where could he disappear in thin air?” growled Baldr in anger. “Guards checked every house of the Wexford, every square, the valleys upto the foothills. But they didn’t check the highlands,” said Alvier. “I don’t think he could hide there; Rowena wouldn’t allow any stranger no matter what,” replied Baldr. “That’s true. She was spotted by our guards protesting this morning, so clearly Ivan didn’t go the highlands,” said Strogabot. In Wexford most of the guards were pulled back by Waterford and ordered few to stay alert to spot Ivan if he still resides there. Mr Griffiths was baffled by how Ivan escaped or got killed without any trace. “I couldn’t believe that my destiny soup got me in deep trouble. I shouldn’t  have agreed with you guys to meet up that man in the Valley. Now your stupidity brings me here, how can I survive without making soups? Cried Lenin. “That enchanting aroma and delightful taste will never be experienced again,” sighed Lenin closing his eyes and lowering his face numbly. Two guards approached the cell and took crying Lenin off. “Stop, hey stop where are you taking our friend?” shouted Mr Griffiths. “Are you going to make a soup of my destiny now? please don’t kill me,” cried Lenin. “Yeah that’s right you will be making soup of destiny,” said the guard. He took him to the Blatir House and gave him a space and deployed there to prepare soup for the Chiefs and the Guards of the Blatir House. Lenin immediately started preparing soup from the fresh catch of Waterford shores. “I’m impressed with that Destiny soup of yours, that’s what you call it ay,” said Alvier to Lenin by spinning spoon in his hand. After having the soup by the Chiefs, the remaining was left for the guards and the Blatir House was enchanted with the aroma of the Luxerian destiny soup. Lenin was of course tired by brewing soups all day but was in bliss for spreading the aroma of his destiny even in the toughest of situation. He remembered words of his late daughter, ‘Sadness makes a person weak but it’s up to him whether he chooses to stay weak or come strong’.                               It was evening by then and guards transferred Lenin back to his cell with his mates. In Wexford the remaining guards were called back and other guards were being sent for the night patrolling. Few guards were passing through the highlands to get to the town and then someone from inside peeks through Rowena’s window it was Ivan. He smelt the aroma of the Lenin’s soup which was carried by guards and immediately recognized it and slowly steps outside hiding in bushes and realising the three of them must be captured in Waterford and he was so hungry and must have this soup. He tricks the other guard with a noise of Wolf and catches one guard with the soup and takes the soup and kills the guard with the sword and discards him in the sea. “What a view with a delicacy,” sighed Ivan to himself slurping the soup and enjoying the sunset from the sea shore. Soon after finishing the soup Ivan headed back towards Rowena’s House, he opened the door and bang! A hard kick straight in his gut and he fell far away from the door. “Introduce yourself Intruder and get ready for your last breath,” said Rowena. He knew who she could be, not an ordinary lady for sure. He immediately removes something from a secret vault of his belt. A sapphire he holds with his index finger and thumb raising above reflecting the sunlight in glowing red colour. Her eyes wide open seeing the Sapphire with the intruder, she grabs it off his hand and give him a hard punch knocking him off. “Bollock!” she utters angrily and run into her attic to find the remaining stone. To her surprise her stone were in place and this is the second one which was seized by Olafur himself during the war. “Holy Heavens!” she exclaims and runs instantly to him, waking him up. “Who are you and where did you get this?” asked Rowena. “Water! Water! Water!” he replied. She takes him inside and gave him water to drink. Holding a glass he speaks, “I am Ivan Bogdan from Sladcheskov which was raided by Olafur and his forces. They wiped out everything nobody survived only few prisoners they took including me and this stone I seized from Olafur whilst battling with him. Thought it must be important so I kept it with me. And sure, you are the rightful owner of it. I learnt that Olafur did same in Wexford a great war a decade ago,” answered Ivan. There was a knock on the door. “Stay low,” she said to Ivan and went out to see. It was Sabrina Griffiths. “Mrs Griffiths why are you here. Have you forgotten about the Curse of the Black Sun?” questioned Rowena. “I don’t care about anything; I am here to ask for your help to get Craig back from Waterford,” said Sabrina in a numb voice with tears flowing her eyes. “What happened? Could you tell from beginning whatever you know,” asked Rowena. “Craig didn’t return home since yesterday evening and at early morning the guards from Waterford are sprawling in search of a young man named Ivan. Through every house they searched and they took Craig and his friends because he was with him when the guards saw them. Now only you can bring Craig back, please help me, please,” cried Sabrina. “Please stop crying, your husband will be back soon. Now you must return your home soon, please trust me,” assured Rowena by wiping her tears. After getting assurance from Rowena, Sabrina returns to her home. Rowena is in her thoughts, why did guards take them but not him? Why did guards search entire Wexford but not highlands? Her questions were factual suspecting Ivan to be mole. She slams the door shut removing her Sword straight on Ivan.
