"No..No...Please No...NO PLEASE", I awoke suddenly, groggy and feeling like my limbs where melted together, unable to move or escape from my nightmare. My eyes jutted open, but it was my nose that caught the smell of crisp linen and vanilla and registered that I wasn't alone.
Tan, taut muscles strained under the most impeccable white t-shirt and cradled me. I couldn't get his smell out of my nostrils, and damn did he smell good. I wearily suppressed the urge to look up and peak at his face. I didn't want to see his face. Who was he? I was in a strangers house. And most importantly, I couldn't recollect any information on who the hell I was.
I felt his arms tense around me, before he spoke softly, "Hello, I am so ever delighted to see you've awoken, but please, I urge you to keep still. You're quite a frightening mess."
Oh so my captive is English. His voice was thick, and carried a gentility that urged me do exactly as he said. I felt safe, though I knew this sensation would be brief and sensed that for now, I could breath easy.
"You woke up screaming, and collided into me after practically rushing out of the room I had left you in. If you're feeling quite well later, we may talk. I gather you may want to rest a bit more."
Before I could respond he swept me effortlessly in his arms and made a move towards the hall. As he lifted me I felt a shocking pain towards the ribs and whimpered softly. He must've heard me, because he gently re-positioned me in his arms. He guided me through his home, and though my eyes where suppressing the need to sleep, I saw the moon peak out through the large window walls that seemed to be a theme in this home. So many stars specked the darkness that was the night sky. Briefly awed by the view, I almost forgot that my captor was walking me to that room.
"Please don't take me back there...I...I..I..just can't." I quietly spoke aloud. "It's the ocean..", I explained, but before I could finish he was walking my tenderly down the never ending hall, only to turn left into a much larger, dimly lit room. It smelled of vanilla and fresh, crisp linen.
