Danger looms

"I am gonna kill one of these fools soon" d**k mutters to himself as he arranges his room, when he had done it to his satisfaction, he took off his clothing, walked into a shower. He was really stressed out, he kept thinking about the blue dressed stranger and Theo. After a while, d**k put off the shower, he put on his towel, soon he hears a ringing sound, it was coming from his door.
"Coming" d**k says as he gets to the door, he opens it and sees Sarah, she was standing in the doorway, she was wearing a lovely yellow dress, she was holding a small yellow purse to complement her dressing, her hair was even more silky than usual, she looked even more attractive than usual.
"To what do I owe the pleasure of the most beautiful bride to be" d**k asks in a low deep voice as if he was flirting.
"Why don't you let me in and find out" Sarah says back at him, she was smiling heartily. d**k reaches in for a kiss, she kisses him back lightly.
Dick breaks away from the kiss.
"You are free to enter" d**k grins. Soon, Sarah enters the room.
"Your room looks like Godzilla and King Kong had a brawl here" Sarah smirks. d**k laughs a little.
"I am gonna get dressed" d**k says as he leaves to another room, he got back soon in a T-shirt and shorts.
"I thought you promised to see the planner, we have so much to do, don't forget the wedding on Wednesday" Sarah says raising her voice.
"Yeah, I was supposed to, I had a really busy day" d**k says putting his hands to his head.
"I will see her tomorrow, it is late already" d**k finishes.
"What were you doing today, solving a mystery" Sarah asks, there was suspicion in her voice, she began to scan the room as if she was searching for something.
"You went fighting those things again, didn't you, I can see your gun on the table" Sarah says her eyes resting on the golden weapon which was resting on the table.
"That isn't enough proof" d**k says with an uneasy grin.
Sarah smiles as she walks towards the gun, she picks it up and mumbles some arcane words that d**k certainly couldn't comprehend even with his abilities.
"This weapon was fired last about six hours ago in east oakland" Sarah says now levelling her look at d**k.
"Wow, how did you figure that out" d**k says, he was managing to fake surprise.
"I am a top mage, learnt a few spells from Redoulp, he has a few things to teach you too if you were more approachable" Sarah says walking towards him. She cups his face with her two palms.
"I know you want to protect me and you feel you are invincible..."
"I don't just feel invincible, I am invincible, I am like Batman except with powers" d**k interrupts her as he grins.
Sarah gives a light smile.
"I admire your confidence but there are forces unknown to us, I don't want to lose you before we get married."
"No worries, love, this D ain't getting intimidated by anyone" d**k says grinning.
"Speaking about intimidation, have you noticed anyone unusual following you recently" d**k asks now with a serious tone.
"Why do you ask, you got someone tailing me" Sarah grins.
"Not exactly, I trust you can take care of yourself, how are the ninjas faring" d**k asks.
"At the moment, they are being trained by the nightwalkers clan, I needed a break, turns out I am not the only human mage" Sarah grins as she takes her hands off d**k's face.
"Nothing great about magic though, just some abracadabra, I am the real deal" d**k grins.
"Yeah, that is what you we're saying when Katarina beat the s**t out of you" Sarah smirks.
She opened the wine cabinet and brings out two bottle.
"Well, we can't count that one, you weren't there, how did you figure that out" d**k asks.
"I made friends with her, she doesn't like you very much" Sarah says, she then stares at the two bottles.
"Chateau Latour or Chateau Margaux"
She asks putting up the two bottles.
"I think a cocktail is in order" d**k grins.
"Whatever you say" Sarah says as she sets the two bottles of wines on the table.
"Endriosa" Sarah chants slowly, soon, two small cups ascend in the air and move towards the table. They land softly close to the wine bottles.
"I wish I was a mage, I wouldn't have to walk to get a glass cup for a drink" d**k says with a haughty tone.
"Endriosa" Sarah chants again, the two bottles of wine uncork each other as if operated by an external force, they began to empty themselves into the two glass cups.
"How about you rematch with Katarina again since you are now well aware of magic" Sarah says looking at d**k, she had diverted her attention from the wine emptying itself into the cups.
"That is a hard pass, you sure you don't wanna watch the wine and the cups" d**k asks smiling lightly.
"It would be fine, wish I could say the same for you if you faced Katarina" Sarah smirks.
"I see what you tryna do, that s**t doesn't work on me, I started it" d**k smirks.
"Haha, why don't we test that, we play a game of chess, if I win, you face off Katarina" Sarah smiles.
"How about if I win, what am I gonna get" d**k asks.
"Then I will admit mage-craft sucks and I might even stop spells like this" As she finishes her statement, a cup of wine hovers to her, she catches it calmly. Another cup hovers to d**k, he also catches it too.
"Then we got a deal, I ain't gonna take it easy on you though" d**k says as he grabs his cup too.
"I beat you in the game thrice" Sarah smiles.
"Yeah and I lost count of the amount of time I beat you" d**k winks.
"Those three times, I just let you win, you won't get so lucky this time, love."
"Why don't we test that" Sarah says as she empties the content in her cup.
KRAN KRANN KRANN comes a sound from the door.
"Are you expecting anyone" Sarah says setting her cup on the table.
"Not really" d**k says as he moves towards the door.
He opens it and see a man, he was a few inches shorter than him, he had short dark hair, he was holding a pistol and he wore a serious expression.
"Hey shortie, how did you reach the doorbell and is that a toy, kids shouldn't play with that, it is late at night, why don't you run home so mama doesn't catch a heart attack" d**k grins at him.
The man's face curves into a frown, he throws a punch at him, d**k catches his fist midair.
"Awwn so cute, you are getting into your first fight" d**k says as he counterattacks with another punch, the man flies a few feet backwards.
"Come again soon when you learn to throw a punch." d**k grins as he shuts the door tight.
"Who was that" Sarah asks.
"No one significant in particular" d**k says, turning his direction towards Sarah, his ears pick up the sound of a reloading weapon. Using his internal scan, he look through the walls and sees a man reloading a sniper, it was an old model but really effective.
"Guess Theo really meant business" d**k mutters as he dashes towards Sarah.
"Look out" d**k shouts at her direction.
Sarah turns towards d**k, she was unaware of what was going on. d**k's ears pick up another sound, the sniper had taken a shot. Based on the way he handled the weapon, he wasn't a mere rookie, he chose a good vantage point, he had set up the place nicely meaning he had been watching the duo for at least ten minutes, he had waited for Sarah to get to a secure spot, using that man who rang the bell, it was the best decoy ever. This sniper was definitely good at his job.
All these go through d**k's mind, he hoped he was gonna make it.
Everything got into slow motion, d**k sees the bullet as it whizzed past through the open window, he was a few feet away from her, there was no way he could put his body in time to stop the bullet so he did the most logical thing he could think off, extending his right hand as far as he could, he managed to catch the bullet midair and flings it away.
"Now, this is getting on my nerves" d**k says as he leaps to the window, turning towards Sarah.
"You might wanna take cover, there's a sniper on the loose."
With that, d**k climbs out of the window, he lands softly on the ledge, he looks at the person who had fired at him, he was on the roof of a building about twenty metres from d**k's position, he was reloading the weapon, he wanted to take another shot.
"Got you now, coward" d**k says as he leaps from the ledge, the man on the building fires another shot, d**k catches it midair.
"This guy is good, basically me if I shot a sniper all day like a wimpy loser" d**k thinks to himself, he lands softly on the roof a few feet behind the sniper.
"What's wrong man, you got bored with wanking and decided to take your frustration on me" d**k says walking towards him. The sniper rolled on the ground, switching to a smaller gun, a pistol, he fires off at d**k, d**k dodges without difficulty.
"You missed" d**k grins.
"Did I?" The sniper said now smirking, he was tall and slender, had short blonde hair and brown eyes.
Dick looks around, after a while, when nothing unusual happened.
"Is something supposed to happen" d**k asks with a puzzled look.
The sniper had a defeated look on his face.
"I was trying to sound cool" He mumbles weakly.
Dick lets out a cruel laugh.
"Man, stick to what you are good out, hiding on roofs and shooting at innocent cute couples and missing like a dumb rookie."
The sniper face twists into a frown
"Well, Theo knew this would happen, that's why he sent me some help."
"Not another sniper who sucks" d**k laughs, a shadow drops from overhead, he feels his right leg being grasped by something as if it wanted to fling him. d**k manages to get a grasp on the ground with his left foot, as quickly as he could, he swings his right feet thereby shaking off the weight grabbing him. The weight fall off, it gets to his feet, it was a man alright and he looked strangely familiar.
"Haven't we met before" d**k says staring hard at him, the man stood up to his full height, he opened his mouth to show his fangs, it then hit d**k who this man was, he was the vampire elite of the nightwalkers clan pride.
"I hope you don't think you can beat me cause you are in for a real disappointment" d**k smirks at him.
The vampire looks at d**k with contempt.
"You have insulted our leader Alucard long enough, it is time you receive the reward for your insolence."
"Did you also tell Theo about the sword too, you whining dog" d**k says curling his two palms into a fist.
"I did no such thing, once he told me I could eliminate you and he promised funding for our clan, it was more than I could ask for, It's like killing two birds with a stone" he says crouching down as if readying himself for a jump.
"I am gonna end you real quick and send you home crying to your mama" d**k says as he dashes towards the vampire, the vampire tries to punch d**k as he was approaching, d**k manages to catch the punch with his right hand, the vampire anticipating this responds with a kick to d**k's guts, d**k move a few feet backward, the vampire dashes towards him and lands several punches on d**k, d**k tries to hit him but he was unsuccessful as the vampire dodges his every attack, he grabs d**k by his right feet and flings him into the air.
Dick falls of the building and lands in a dumpster, he gets up from the dumpster, he feels his hands going wobbly and his mind troubled.
"So you using magic" d**k says as he leaves the dumpster, the elite vampire lands on the ground with a thud.
"I do what is necessary to win, you are invulnerable when your mind and body are in sync, getting them to be off-sync is your greatest weakness" He says still maintaining the same expression.
Dick falls to the ground, he was so weak, he had to think of a way to win but he couldn't, his mind kept racing to irrelevant topics and his body kept shaking.
"I guess magic ain't totally useless" d**k thinks.
